Traveled to Meredith from Colorado staying at KOA's where all the campgrounds and people working there were wonderful. We immediately got the impression they didn't want us there however they didn't have a problem taking our money for reservation for a weeks stay. You turn off the main road and are right next to the "playground" and strict rules of 5 mi per hour speed. It seems to be a "private club" for seasonal campers and not a couple of senior citizens staying in the area to visit their family. Our daughter and husband encountered the belligerent campground manager two times and we were yelled at twice. No need to yell at someone if they make a mistake on campground rules which this very tired person did. I watched people do the same as I sat there waiting for a ride-she never treated them in such a nasty manner as she did us. We have pre-paid the no-refundable cost of the stay but if we could, we would leave now, park our RV and get a hotel room! I have been a camper, traveler and RV'er throughout the US, Canada and Europe for over 30 years and have never encountered such disrespect and nastiness. I suggest they post the 5 mph sign at the entrance of the camp( right off the main road), move the playground away from the traffic area & fence it in and widen the road because if there was an emergency-the fire or rescue vehicles would have a problem driving in the area. I find the campsite unsafe. The pool area would be difficult to get to if a child was in a swimming accident for instance or a an adult was experiencing a serious medical issue. I understand they are in New Hampshire and are a private campground. I am sure they have so many campers they see every year they are not concerned but I would advise my friends not to stay there for two reasons the nasty attitude and the unsafe conditions. As I mentioned I observed campers there doing the same thing we were yelled at for. I assume they come every year. We have the impression we were not welcome but our reservation $$$ was. My suggestion pass this place by and find a better campground even though you may have to drive a bit farther. PS: the facilities were not as clean as we have found at other campgrounds.
