We have taken our 21 foot Funfinder trailer to OH Ridge in August for the last 3 years. The weather is hot in the mornings, cooling off at night. we usually have at least one rainy day. We camp in Bear Loop space 14 which has a nice area for setting out chairs around the fire ring with a good view of June Lake. There are no restrooms in this loop but there are two flush toilet restrooms within sight. There is a water faucet in the loop. Gull Loop and Squirrel have restrooms. A shower is available... A shower is available near the store at the private campground next door. Powdery soil is packed but dusty. Nice table at each site and with an EZ-up is a great place to gather for meals or conversation. Good trout fishing at June or Silver or up the highway is an entrance to the back side of Yosemite and several fishing spots there as well. In Lee Vining there is a hamburger joint with ice creams, shakes, burgers etc. I recomend the buttermilk shake with blackberries! Great place to stop after a long day fishing. The owner is very strict about dogs. Keep Fido on leash and carry poop bags. You can get a $1 bowl of ice cream for your pup. OH Ridge is also 20 min North of Mammoth Lakes for groceries, dining, medical care etc. Also, if you cut thru Mammoth to the entrance before 7am, you can get into Devil's postpile and Rainbow falls without having to board a tram to see the area. Dogs are not permitted on trams, so we usually go in EARLY before the Ranger station is manned in our truck. When we exit we use our Senior Pass and pay no fee. We highly recommend getting a National Park Pass. We also saved using our Good Sam membership for OH Ridge. This is DRY camping so you don't have plumbing or electricity but there is a tank dump at the entrance kiosk. We enjoyed it and will return every year.
