The bed in our RV is surrounded on three sides, which makes putting on standard bedding a bit of a challenge. In my mind, the logical approach is to go with sleeping bags, which is what we've done - but with a twist.
We enclosed our full-size mattress in a futon cover. The fabric is sturdy -- with a choice of many colors and patterns -- closes with a zipper and completely covers the mattress.
For our double sleeping bag, we made sheet liners from twin-size flat sheets. They keep the sleeping bag clean, and are easily washed.
In the morning, we smooth the sleeping bag, zip it closed and roll it up into a long bolster along one wall. Our pillows go into shams and prop against the bolster to make an attractive and comfortable lounging area. It's our grandchildren's favorite place to play or read on rainy days.
