We stayed for two wonderful weeks in campsite A40, which was more than adequate in size for our 19' Airstream and Jeep Gladiator. The site is a little over a hundred yards from the beach, which could easily be heard as one drifted off to sleep, sat at table to eat, or enjoying the sky above, the earth beneath, and the flora and fauna about. We felt very fortunate, indeed, to be two people in our nation of 331.9 million to be able to spend a fortnight in this treasure of the National Park system.
Great park. Host helped us back in. Some space between sites. Beach across the street. Historic forts are very interesting. Convenient location to visit other sites in Pensacola. No sewer hook ups. Dump station. Restrooms are nice. Plumbed for laundry, but machines not installed.
Camped with other family members. Enjoyed the Blue Angels practice fly overs, the fishing, beach and local food.
Wonderful campground! Sites are paved so there is less sand brought into camper. The only drawback is that the park wants to keep your truck/vehicle on the paved surfaces which can be a tight squeeze. We always stay in Loop A. The rest of the park is not as appealing (a lot tighter spots). The beach is right across the road from the campground which is a short walk. Fort Pickens offers a rare undeveloped beach which is spectacular.
