This hidden little gem is just off 231 and, if you're not careful, you'll miss it. Gorgeous pine trees surround the campsites, and we were immediately charmed by the plentiful song birds. The front desk manager checked us in with a smile, and we found our spot and pulled right in with no trouble at all. The lots are huge, all grass and sand. The grounds are clean and beautiful, with a lovely pond, picnic tables and a double swing overlooking the water and lawn. Tall pine trees fill the nearby... Read More

The front desk manager checked us in with a smile, and we found our spot and pulled right in with no trouble at all. The lots are huge, all grass and sand. The grounds are clean and beautiful, with a lovely pond, picnic tables and a double swing overlooking the water and lawn. Tall pine trees fill the nearby woods, and well-trimmed walking trails run throughout. People walk their dogs day and night, while squirrels run up and down the trunks of trees and invade the bird houses sprinkled all over the park. The park seems slightly primitive and, even during bike week, was wonderfully peaceful and quiet. The amenities are surprising. Yes, there's a nice laundry room with washers and dryers ($2.50 each) with optional clothes lines for that fresh air smell. Next door to the laundry is a perfectly usable gym spotless bathrooms and showers are located in the club house, where you'll find a game room with everything, including a piano, a bingo game, books, board games, overstuffed sofas and a great big TV. I was spirited back to summer camp when I walked into the main room :) The wifi leaves a bit to be desired ... daily caps on usage prevent anything but perfunctory email checking ... but if you bring your own hotspots you may get good reception (IMO, not a bad trade-off for all the trees!). If it's television you're after, you can use your own antenna (we don't have tv so we couldn't test it) and the club house offers satellite with a zillion channels. Any shortcoming is completely made up for when you interact with the long-term folks. There's a family-oriented feel to the place, and several campers (long and short term) were quick to offer an invite to the AmVet next door. Super friendly, down-to-earth neighborly crowd. One long-term resident greeted us with a kind "good morning" introduction, offered good advice for grocery shopping ("check out the Cost Plus 10% in Marianna about 15 minutes away for the best deal on food") and made us smile all day with his Grandpa jokes. Another resident offered us amazing advice for saving money ("Did you know that T-Mobile offers a 50% discount for 55+ users?" She saved us $70 a month on the very first day of our visit). Within a few days we were invited to a park Cinco de Mayo dinner. The front desk manager makes amazing tacos and margaritas (but it looked like BYOB, too) and the desserts she set out were YUMMY. We highly recommend this park for folks seeking nature, quiet, privacy and friendly, interesting neighbors. If you're into streaming video or online games you may be disappointed, but you can get your fix for movies from RedBox which isn't too far away. There are not a lot of shopping options nearby, but Family Dollar, Dollar General, gas, Piggly Wiggly, a seafood restaurant and some gift shops can be found within 3 miles.

Seems people working are helpful as far as allowed. Needs a tremendous amount of maintenance and grounds work. Buildings look like they all need some type of repair and a good painting. Electrical and cable at the sites need help. Would not recommend staying there at this time, shame, looks as though if the owners put some money into the park they would have a nice park to stay at.

We stayed 1night, checked in on a Sunday the ofc was closed and had to check in via telephone. Was told to pay first thing in the morning. Told to pick a space between 80 & 90. Called back later to get the WiFi password and had to leave a message. No one ever returned my call. Constantly had to reset the circuit as it kept blowing. The park brochures constantly refer to making sure payment is made promptly or will incur a $10 late charge. Yet when we went to the ofc to pay they obviously could care... Read More

When I had told them I didn't appreciate no one getting back to me with the wifi password, all I got was "we didn't get any calls, you must have called the wrong number". However, the voicemail answered with the "Pine Lake RV Park". Would I refer anyone or stay there again - NO WAY! They also charge a resort fee of $5 above and beyond the stated fee in the RPI catalog. Believe me, this is not a resort. We had a mud puddle outside our door.
