We had a nice time. The park setting and lake were spectacular. The restaurant and bar onsite were good. The restrooms were as clean as could be given it was a busy holiday weekend and I noticed they were cleaned several times throughout the day. Our only complaint was the showers. The older restroom/ shower building had three shower stalls in the men's. One stall had no valve handle and could not be used, while another had a plugged shower head that had one stream of water coming out like a squirt... Read More

The older restroom/ shower building had three shower stalls in the men's. One stall had no valve handle and could not be used, while another had a plugged shower head that had one stream of water coming out like a squirt gun. As for the one stall that did work the water was cold, maybe 70 degrees at the most. My wife said only two stalls worked on the ladies side and the water was cold. I mentioned all this to the cleaning staff and they said it was reported several times over, but had been that way for months and that the water was kept cool on purpose. The next day we tried the newer restroom/ shower building. It consists of two single use uni-sex rooms with a toilet and shower in the same room. These are hard to get into because people keep using them for the restrooms and then when someone uses them for a shower it ties the restroom up. However the showers and everything worked in this building, but the water was cold again just like the other building. Given the shower discomfort we will likely not come here again as maintained showers are important to us. It's a shame such a nice park can't maintain their showers with less than $20 in shower parts needed and turning up their water heaters. Or investing in water heaters if they don't exist.

We were really looking forward to our long weekend at MarDon Resort. The description of the amenities on their website, coupled with the photographs portrayed it as a well-maintained, lake RV resort. Unfortunately, my actual experience fell way below expectations. We reserved an RV campsite (concrete pad), but when we showed up, were told that the person who took our reservation was new and had placed us in a site normally used by tent campers--and, they were fully booked so no alternate arrangements... Unfortunately, my actual experience fell way below expectations. We reserved an RV campsite (concrete pad), but when we showed up, were told that the person who took our reservation was new and had placed us in a site normally used by tent campers--and, they were fully booked so no alternate arrangements could be made. We were able to barely squeeze our RV in between trees and giant boulders, used to mark sites. There was only electricity and water hook-ups. No sewer, no cable (as advertised on their site), and the WiFii was negligible. We were never able to connect the entire time we were there due to "weak signal." Due to the reservation error, they did comp one night and waive the dog fees, but this was small compensation for the expectations I had for what my stay at MarDon would be like.
There was one bathroom near us, and it had 4 stalls and 3 showers. I'm not sure how many bathroom/shower facilities exist throughout the entire site, suffice to say this location was always busy. There must be some health guideline around the minimum number of bathroom facilities required based on a certain number of people--and I would guess that on this weekend, the site was not in compliance, i.e. not enough bathrooms for the number of guests.
The bathrooms were also in very bad shape. They were smelly and dirty. The shower stall had a water spout that trickled cold water at a height of about 4' from the floor. And there was exposed wiring with copper wires hovering just a couple of feet above the water spout. On Sunday morning, when many guests were trying to check-out, the bathroom was closed for cleaning--for at least 45 minutes; really poor planning and not customer-centric at all.
The MarDon website publishes a "quiet time" at night, but there is no enforcement whatsoever. We could hear large groups of people laughing and screaming well near midnight.
The onsite caf, was one of the redeeming qualities. Service was great and the food was good for a fair price.
My assessment: I think MarDon is probably a great resort for people who want to tent camp. Demographically, it seems to cater to young, singles who want to boat or jet-ski during the day and drink at night; think Spring Break crowd. It would not be my recommendation for young families or RVers looking for a more laid back experience.

We always enjoy MarDon Resort. It's like an oasis in the high desert area! We like that there are so many sites with lake views and all sites have easy access to the lake. The restaurant on site was enjoyable. We also appreciated the professionalness of the staff.
My wife and I stayed at the park in October, lots of empty spaces. I was told that I could have any one of them ,take a drive through the park and pick one. We picked spot 54 nice view of the lake. What I didn't know or even was mentioned an annual grandmothers party ,with loud entertainment until 11 PM right below our campsite The windows of my RV were rattling I couldn't even hear my TV. Now I don't mind a party. The reason for my 1star is I wasn't told by management that there was a party 100ft... Read More

Although as loud as it was I would imagine the whole lake had to suffer . I would recommend you ask if there is a party or anything loud going on in the park if you stay. I felt like I was cattle pay at the window .
