We actually had a group with a toy hauler and rented a deluxe cabin. An unexpected surprise was that the deluxe cabin had A/C, which was needed for most of the stay. Our group was 5 of us with motorcycles (2 came with the toy hauler, 3 rode there). The campground is in a great location, lighted wooded sites, hiking trails, very quiet and it wasn't crowded. The owner was very accomodating and allowed us to park my truck and the bikes on another site since the site with the traiiler (which we... Read More

The campground is in a great location, lighted wooded sites, hiking trails, very quiet and it wasn't crowded. The owner was very accomodating and allowed us to park my truck and the bikes on another site since the site with the traiiler (which we picked to be close to the cabin) was not as large as other sites.
There was a small office with some items for sale and a very friendly Great Dane to greet customers.
All hookups and things worked (Sewer, Electicity, water).
The only thing that wasn't great was the WiFi - not a WiFi issue, but a general internet quality issue of the providers in the area. It was ok for email, etc. but not much else. We were camping, right - No need for internet. :)
The campground is right next to a 100' tower providing great views of the area. About 1.5 miles from the PA Grand Canyon state park where the views of the canyon were spectacular. A short drive got you into downtown Wellsboro (A great little town).

This park is situated very near Pennsylvania's Grand Canyon. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. It's fairly remote so it's nice that they carry many needed supplies in the small store. The game room was an unexpected surprise - nice quality. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Most sites have some trees or shrubbery between them for some privacy. It is a rather remote area - great for a get away and near hiking, fishing, kayak/canoeing, etc. Follow their directions to get here... Read More

We would stay here again when we are looking for a quiet getaway in the mountains. It is just a short walk/drive from a scenic overlook tower.

Just completed our stay at Canyon Country, which was picked over others in the area based on the Good Sam Rating. The site rented was a pull-through with full service (EWS) all of which were as described. This site was located near the entrance, and close to the office, which also housed the restrooms/showers. We travel with 2 small dogs, and fortunately, it was close to the dog walk area located just outside the entrance. It rained several times during our stay, which turned the camp roads... Read More

We travel with 2 small dogs, and fortunately, it was close to the dog walk area located just outside the entrance. It rained several times during our stay, which turned the camp roads and sites into muddy messes. The campground could benefit from blacktop or at the least gravel to alleviate the mud. The campground site lists RV supplies and service; however, we didn't see a lot of supplies, of any type, and weren't able to procure 2 wire connectors to fix a small wiring harness issue. There also wasn't a suggestion offered on where the closest store might be to find the items. The Playground equipment for children consisted of a tire swing, 2 other swings, and 2 tractor tires sunk in the ground. There was a volleyball net. Wi-Fi you could say was very limited. The office would give campers a code, which could be used for 1 hour, and it would only work if you were in the office or on the office porch. Staff is only available in the office from 9AM-5PM. I did not attempt to buy any groceries. The restrooms and showers were in fact very clean, but not fancy. The pavilion was about the same. We tried to walk the "nature trail" to the overlook, but the path through the woods was so rough we opted to just drive to Leonard Harris State Park, which is extremely close, and much safer to start any hiking from that point. Lesson learned on our part, and will be more careful when booking campground without reviews from previous Good Sam Campers.
