We have stayed at the Wilderness about six or seven times. It is convenient to Silver Dollar City and a shuttle bus is offered four times daily. We use a 50 amp site despite only having 30 amp in our coach because a few of the 50 amp sites are our favorites. Discounts are given for vets and SDC Season Passes. Most sites are fairly level but some are pretty small. Those on the west side are backed up to a very deep gully. The entire park is crushed stone with some grass growing between but... Read More

Our dog would not use stone to relieve itself so we made trips 4 times daily to a small patch of grass by the office or to a nice walking trail at the Dewey Short Visitors Center on Table Rock Lake (about 5 miles away). Branson is pretty much built on stone so grassy areas are difficult to find. Our RV site was well planned out for hookups (including good wi-fi and cable TV) but it backs up to a busy and noisy highway. At night you can hear music from Silver Dollar City just across the gully about a mile. All in all a pleasant place to stay and the sites are not crammed together except for some of the 50 amp sites in the south loop. The closeness to Silver Dollar City is a big advantage but it is only about 3 or 4 miles to downtown Branson and lots of good entertainment and restaurants. I should add the park is well shaded by many trees large and small.

Positives: Shady, private, quiet (the guests anyway) relatively inexpensive, shuttle service to SDC. Negatives: Right between a busy and noisy highway and basically the edge of a small ravine. Small spaces that are very hit and miss with being level. Very little room for toads at any of the sites if you're 30 feet or more, narrow roads (could be tough for longer rigs). Bathrooms at the main store were less than desirable (as far as cleanliness goes) and it's pretty isolated from Branson which could... Read More

Bathrooms at the main store were less than desirable (as far as cleanliness goes) and it's pretty isolated from Branson which could also be considered a positive (20 minute drive). Hit or miss on the customer service at the front desk, I guess it depends on the day the host is having, but there were some fairly rude folks at times. Overall enjoyed our stay, but there was nothing spectacular about the place, the shuttle service was nice, and the shady spot was nice, but beware that you could get stuck right on the main highway and it is busy. Also, make sure you've got plenty of leveling gear because most of the spaces are no where near level!

My favorite Branson campground. Agree with everything the other reviewer said except didn't find the shuttle inconvenient, it does only run 3-4 roundtrips a day, which is around every 3-4 hrs, but considering the wealth of things to take in at silver dollar city never was a problem for me. Have used RV parking at SDC too, they will allow generators to keep AC on for pets, only 2-3 mile drive from The wilderness so it convenient too. if rather pay the $4. The only thing I'd add is the best breakfast... Read More

The only thing I'd add is the best breakfast place in branson area is right next to the Wilderness. Billy Gail's is right on north edge of the campground. If you look at The Wilderness map any of the spots from the big loop around the office is a fairly pleasant walk to Billy Gail's. However the south loop has hills inbetween and is pretty far walk. And same would be true for walk to office or shuttle, so if elderly or expecting hot weather during stay I'd request a spot closer to office if possible

We love Silver Dollar City and love most everything about the Wilderness. In 2015, we actually stayed about 20 nights during various trips to Branson. Be aware that reservation specialist are not always onsite (sometimes calls role over to main Silver Dollar City ticket/info line) which is fine but note that they may not be familiar with the actual campground beyond the information provided in their computer information system. So be sure to look at the map in advance if site placement matters... Read More

There are several amenities including a camp store, game room, laundry area, pool, two bath houses and two playgrounds. We are Silver Dollar City pass holders so spend most of our time in the park. One disappointment was the lack of times the shuttle runs to and from the park so we have always chosen to drive ourselves. Note that you can actually take your camper to the park for $4 parking fee. We have done this several times on days we are leaving to go home. Very convenient!!!
