Firstly when we rang (after making an online application to be accepted here) we were told there was only 1 suitable site for our 30' 5th wheel and it happened to be one of their more expensive sites on the lake and not a pull thru as we requested. The fellow on the phone did say however that "if we get a cancellation for a pull thru site in the meantime we'll let you have that one". Fair enough we thought if that's all there is. Firstly when we arrived into the office we disturbed a young fellow who seemed absorbed in his mobile phone but at least he was polite and gave us a map to our site. Not every park escorts you to your site so we weren't worried when he didn't leave the office to direct us. Sadly when we got here we couldn't use the original allotted site as no-one had told us you need an extra long power cord to use the power or as in our case about 6 - 8 feet of the front of our van would be overhanging on the narrow street. So we rang the office for advice. The young fellow still didn't leave the office but instead gave us another site to try. That had the same problem as the first. All the utilities are at the very front of the site so when anything has it's receptacle at the rear it can be a problem. So we rang the office again. Still not leaving the office he said "That's OK we have a heap of options." We wondered how the night before they told us there was only one site and that was an expensive site? The 3rd site he gave us already was occupied so we rang again. He didn't believe us at first so we suggested he come out of the office and take a look. No way. So he pondered a bit and eventually gave us a pull thru site (which didn't exist the night before when we rang) and so we moved to a totally different area where not one but several pull thru sites were vacant. Now that we weren't on the expensive lake site we went back to the office a few days later (after we'd set up we had pre-arranged to be away for 2 nights) to look for a refund of the difference between the cost of the 2 sites. Well it was like extracting a tooth from an angry tiger on the run. First there was a denial the we were entitled to a refund, even after admitting the two sites were at different rates. Then there was the excuse that she (the young fellow wasn't in the office this day) didn't know how to give a refund on a credit card payment. She did say she knew how to cancel a payment but not give a refund so I suggested "cancel the payment totally and I'll just pay again the correct amount". Nah! That didn't work for her either. Then a diversion tactic. It was stated that I could get a credit for my next stay here. We live in Australia and will not be back this way again once we end our trip so I said no. "Well" she said "to extend your stay (presumably to use the credit I didn't want) you'll have to move sites as the one you're in is booked from Friday". It didn't matter to me that it was booked on Friday as we were leaving on the Wednesday before. She then said we'd still have to move as it's booked from Thursday. Still not an issue as we're still leaving on the Wednesday. "Oh! well as long as you're gone by Wednesday" she says. I agree to be gone by Wednesday (our original departure day in any case) but what about my refund? You can start to re-read the 2nd last paragraph again now. In the end when I asked outright "Is it normal practise for this park to book people into expensive unsuitable sites with no alternative offered then to move them to a cheap site but refuse to refund the difference? Isn't that illegal?" All of a sudden she disappeared into a back room before re-appearing with my refund in cash. I wouldn't have minded `donating' that refund if the facilities were OK but as is normal with RV parks the advertised wifi is virtually useless. The restrooms are in poor condition with no latches on the toilet doors for privacy but you don't need that as the partitions are only 4'6" high and anyone can see over the top as you sit on the toilet. Showers aren't much better. I didn't come here expecting a 5 star RV park but I did expect a reasonable stay at a reasonable price. I got neither. The noise from the highway and the railroad is so loud our van vibrates as rail vehicles pass. Since then we've just found out they have charged us $8.40 as a fee for using a debit card to pay for our stay. Practises like these were outlawed in most civilised countries but not here so be prepared. Bottom line - would I stay here again? Not even if they paid me!

Good stop over place on 99. Big rig friendly, nice restaurant on site, a little close to the freeway but still worked after a long day of travel.
