This is a snowbirds paradise. Large park with over 170 sites. Easy access into the park, some of turns inside the park are a little tight. Check in was fast and friendly. They have a small store with basic needs, a rec room and a pool. There is also a carwash on site with an RV stall with platforms on both sides, took advantage and cleaned the RV top to bottom. The park is well maintained. You are right off of I-35 so there was a lot of traffic noise and at times we were in the flight path for the airport. Most sites are very narrow but we were in Site 10, a long gravel pull through with shade trees. We had full hookups with 50amp and no issues with any of them. The site is a Buddy site but very wide and with trees so not right on top of each other. It was plenty long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car. Laundry room and bathrooms were very clean. WiFi was just okay and our Verizon signal was good. There are big open fields for dog walking. We stayed March 1-5, 2018 and paid $41.00 with our Good Sam discount.
This is a beautiful wooded park with a very unfriendly manager. We arrived about 11:15 AM on a Sunday morning. The office was closed but they had maps to the available sites so we chose one & set up. I went to the office when it opened up to register. I was told that was not my assigned spot & I must move. I was soaked with sweat and hot. After trying to get a valid reason why I should just move to a different site for 2 nights I requested to “speak to the owner” I was told the owner is not available & she was the manager. Only then did she say I could stay where I was. Avoid this RV park & the unfriendly management.
This is a very nice park. We stayed in a "Gold Site" which was more expensive, but worth it. We had a side yard on a corner lot. We stayed a week and were very happy with our site. The park is clean and the staff friendly. The WiFi was good! The only amenity I wish they had was cable tv, which would have been nice for the price.
It is conveniently located and easy access. We would definitely stay here again.
We only stopped here one night on our way to Galveston Island. First I had booked a pull through, and they sent me to a back in spot. I'm a horrible backer, but one of the staff guys came and helped, I made it. Lots were gravel and not level. I was with my two granddaughters and they had a pool, so they were thrilled. Not their fault, but the highways in Denton/Dallas are just horrible, and I mean horrible. It took a quite a while to find the place and drove through some residential areas... They had a lot of trees, so hot TX weather would have been eased with the shade. The people were very nice.
This park is very difficult to locate due to extensive road construction. The site we were on was big rig friendly but one of only a very few. The park was mostly filled with permanent residents. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very tight sites. I do not enjoy being within 5 feet of neighboring trailers. Our dirty picnic table was in the site behind us because there was no room on our site. We had to park the truck in front of the trash container (right beside us) as there was no room on site. We reserved a premium pull thru site in June 2015 for an October stay and upon arrival was told there were no pull thru sites available. Staff told us we could stay at another RV resort if we were unhappy! On a good note, they did comp us a free night because of the error. Maintenance crew worked at our site while we were there, coming and going and leaving tools. Loud highway noise. Rotten railroad ties separating sites. Trees not trimmed high enough. Not a lot of choices of campgrounds in the area, but I would not stay here again.
My wife and I just completed a round trip vacation from Southwest Florida to Texas. We stayed at this campground for two nights.
First the positives:
1. This campground has many large trees...an important feature considering the hot Texas sun.
2. This campground is large and was conveniently located for our needs.
Now the negatives:
1. There are two speed bumps shortly after entering the campground.
2. This campground appears to cater primarily to permanent residents. We were told by the lady at the front desk that they have 142 permanent residents. We would have stayed longer, but were told that we would have to move our trailer to a different site because a permanent resident wanted our site.
3. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. This is unusual for Texas.
4. The site was not level and had dog poop on the ground.
The bottom line: If I were looking for a trailer park for a long term residence I might consider this campground, but as a traveler I do not plan to stay here again.
