What a neat campground! Just off I-81 about an hour and a half from the District of Columbia, the people are friendly, the staff knowledgeable and helpful, the place is clean and well maintained. The creek is beautiful, and the sound of water is relaxing. Some sites are right on the water. I should think that is a plus if you like fishing. We loved the peace and quiet. Also, it is not a place for the noisy or the partiers -- the town comes right down to the other side of the creek! Oh, and there... Read More

Also, it is not a place for the noisy or the partiers -- the town comes right down to the other side of the creek! Oh, and there are Mallards that are completely acclimated to being around Humans. They look for handouts but aren't obnoxious about it. Negotiating the road to get there requires care and watchfulness. The last couple of streets are hilly, narrow and houses crowd in; also, that last street has a one lane bridge across the creek with a 10 ton limit. All lots are back-in. A couple are short, but most are good sized and my thirty footer and car fit fine. Call ahead to make sure, especially if you drive a 40+ footer as they have only two sites that will fit. Most sites have water, electric (50A, 30A, or both), and sewer, and they can install a cable box upon request -- and that's a good thing. I love the trees, but it means no satellite service. We were too low here to get Over The Air TV. Great WiFi! Strong signal, great thoughput. I have no idea about the bath houses -- we always used the motorhome. If you bring kids, bring your own entertainment for them. There's no program for them, no playground, nothing. But if they are the type that can play by a creek for hours, they'll love it. You are a short walk from a picturesque little town, but there's not much to town shopping. You'll need a car to go about 5 miles to a Food Lion or Walmart. This place has a lot to recommend it, and I do -- so long as your rig fits and you are looking for serenity.

The road into the campground is very narrow, winding, and steep. Hard to get past other vehicles when meeting them. Also, campground is small and hard to maneuver when trying to back a large camper into a site. There are no pull-thru's. Otherwise, this campground is very nice. The gentle noise from the creek is relaxing. We have stayed here numerous times but only for one night stays.

A hidden gem! Creekside is a small, friendly campground in historic Edinburg, VA. All site are back-in, shaded by huge trees, and, except for tent sites, have full hook ups. One row borders Stony Creek, where you can watch the ducks swim from your site. The other row is on the opposite side of the access lane. The campground is right in Edinburg. Just walk across the bridge over the creek, up the hill, and you are in the middle of town, where most buildings have historic plaques. Check out... Read More

Check out the Edinburg Flour Mill, which was saved from destruction in the civil war, and now serves as a museum of Edinburg's treasures. One note of caution: Creekside might not be the best choice if you are looking for a lot of on-site entertainment. There is no pool or other recreational amenities.
