The owners were friendly and helpful, starting with the initial phone reservation to guiding the trial into the site. This park is a treasure wiy wooded campsites carved into the side of a hill/mountain, a stream meandering down the hill, and immaculate restrooms. Walk to the top of the park and you find a lovely meadow that slopes back to the entrance, perfect for walking cats! Adjacent to the park is a public natural area for hiking. Doesn't get better.

We stumbled upon Woodsmoke Campground because our original choice was full. The reviews of Woodsmoke sounded good, so we decided to request a site via their website. Usually when we request a site online from a campground, we do not hear from them for days. Woodsmoke was a pleasant exception, as they replied within an hour of our request. I was able to call the following day to confirm our reservation. The lady I spoke with was extremely nice and accommodating. Our initial reaction was that this campground was too close to home, as it is 30-35min. As soon as we drove into the beautiful private entrance, we realized that we were badly mistaken with our initial reaction. Just a half hour from home, we felt we were hours away. The owner met us at the office and politely guided us to our spot and assisted in getting us perfectly positioned in our wonderful, private site. Our site backed up to a small stream, which added to the wonderful ambiance of our experience. The sites were large and well spaced. The bathhouse was extremely clean. It is obvious that the owner's take an exceptional amount of pride in maintaining this campground. At the entrance to the campground is the trailhead to the Pinnacle Tower Trail. This is a 4.8mile hiking/biking trail. The views from the tower are beyond words! I mountain biked this trail two times during out stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a must for anyone able to make the trek! Within walking distance (or a very short drive) are a Dollar General store and a package store with all of your liquor, wine and beer needs. The package store had a great selection of craft and high gravity beers as well as the yellow fizzy stuff. Woodsmoke is great whether you are coming from near or far. The owner's are exceptional, the facilities are phenomenal, and the location is convenient. We have ruled out return trips to other campgrounds after a wonderful weekend at Woodsmoke Campground! This is a place that you must experience!
