We were recently at Apple Island for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Campsites were spacious, everything was clean when we arrived and we had a camp host escort us to the site. There is garbage and recyclables pickup at your site daily in the bags provided, all hookups were conveniently located, site was level and the overall vibe was relaxed. We visited the campground store a few times and found both the selections available and the prices to be reasonable. Everyone we came in contact with, both other campers and employees, was friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves. All of the facilities were clean and in good repair. The heated pool and hot tub were both at good temperatures and the water was crystal clear.
We will definitely be back and recommend this campground to everyone.
We wanted to get a last camping trip in at the end of the season and decided to go somewhere close to home. The campground has been around for many years and the location is great, but we never thought that the campground was that great. This is one of the last campgrounds open in the area come mid to late October. We decided on a full hookup site towards the rear of the campground. The better sites with views (my opinion) are located at the front of the campground. The campground is very clean and it has a nice layout. We had an issue getting into our site. The pull through sites in the rear (at least ours) was difficult to get into. A seasonal camper helped us out telling us to drive around one of the loops to get into the site from a different approch. We walked around one day and found the preferable sites (again,my opinion). The campground has had a lot of work done with many of the facilities being brand new or recently built. WiFi is free, but you are not able to view videos or stream music. You just get basic internet access. This was fine for us. Many of the other local campgrounds charge for WiFi. Showers were also free and bathrooms were very clean. The office people were very nice and helpful. They even provide garbage bags and recycling bags for each day you are there. You do not need to search or walk to a dumpster or garbage bin. Leave the garbage out the following morning and someone comes by to pick it up. We were very pleased with this campground and will come back. We can't wait to use the facilities when the weather is warm.
