Traveling full-time in a 42-foot coach we have stayed here many times over the past two years. We live in the age of WIFI technology and there is nothing to stop any RV park from investing in doing WIFI properly and this park receives 5-stars for their great WIFI. This park has two areas, one is built on a small hill and most of those sites are not level, but they are all paved. That means no dust! The other area (in the back) is level, but very dusty because it's gravel. The front area does have some shade trees however the back area has no shade at all. We had AT&T phone service here and it worked great. Your satellite will work for sure if you stay in the back, in the middle. There's plenty of room to walk your dog here with a fenced grassy dog area. This park also receives 5-stars for it's great location...close to restaurants and shopping plus right next to the American River Bike Trail.

Appeal Rating Dusty, primarily gravel, parking lot with hookups. Some trees around the perimeter. OK facilities, if this is what you need. Lovely folks at check-in. I'm sure the place is hopping when there's something going on at the exposition grounds. However, I was glad we like our MH so much that the outside could be avoided. We did make day trips into Sacramento and enjoyed the convenience, as well as the ease of access to Sacramento International A/P out of which I had to make a trip. Easy access to good markets, the cinema, shops of all sorts, etc.

We stayed 1 night while traveling through the area. This is our second stay.
The park is a short drive along busy multi lane city streets from BUS I-80 (Exposition Blvd exit from the South or Arden Way exit from the North). Access from any of the other major highways requires extensive routing. Using the street address in GPS will only get you to the main entrance of the Expo grounds. Access to the RV park is on the SE side of the Expo grounds off of Ethan Way.
There is a sharp incline to get into the park which shows some scraping marks in the pavement. Registration parking is a single file line at the office. The interior roads are paved or gravel. There are some tight turns to maneuver through the park. The sites are a mixture of back-ins and pull thrus. The paved portion has a pretty good slope. Saw some MH's with front wheels off the ground to get level. The gravel portion is flat so really no leveling issues. Distance establishes privacy between the sites but there wasn't much distance between sites. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. The sewer connection was above ground level in a concrete island with the other utility connections so establishing a downhill flow could be difficult depending upon discharge point. No outside tables or fire pits were provided. Stay limit of 30 days in a 60 day period.
Not much to obstruct satellite reception in the gravel area unless along the South row where there was a line of trees. The park brochure listed 8 OTA channels - No cable. Didn't try to get any OTA.
The park provided WiFi was adequate but occupancy was low. It was password protected. Didn't try our Verizon WiFi hotspot. Used our NET10 phone with good reception.
There was one designated fenced pet areas with a grass surface located in a corner of the park. There were tools and can for waste in the fenced pet area. There was a snake warning posted for in the pet area. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park's roads.
TIP: Checkout time is 11 AM. There is a $10 fee to stay past 11 AM. We were able to get down to Old Sacramento and vacate before 11 AM. But very little open in Old Sacramento before 10 AM. So we walked around before things were open. Had to wait until 10 for the visitor center to open to get the NPS cancellation stamp for the Pony Express NHT which ended there. State Fair appears to be the last 2 weeks of July. Probably very difficult to get a site then. Laundry cost seemed expensive and couldn't extend dry time in increments - had to pay for a full dry cycle to get a little more drying time. Laundry room was only open when the office is open.
