I am not one to bash businesses but after losing another night of sleep because of this trip I decided to put my disappointment and frustration out there. We had a great family trip planned for this weekend that didn't go as planned. Upon arriving at Happy Hills Campground in Hancock, MD it looked cute and so I decided to extend our stay from leaving Monday until leaving Wednesday. That was before going to our site and discovering that not only were our reservations wrong but also that when the campground has too many people the wifi doesn't work. Since I work 7 days a week and the website says they have wifi I thought we would be fine. Nope. I spent a lot of my time at the camp store or near the barn or bathhouses trying to get a signal for calls, texts and emails. These are all things I should have been able to do from my campsite. I don't know how many of my clients are upset with me because I couldn't be reached. I know of at least one instance when an agent needed me and had to contact my broker for assistance. I never would have booked here had I known that so if you are like we and need access to the outside world while camping this may not be the place for you. That was my biggest complaint and the most stress of the trip. I couldn't relax and spend time with my family and couldn't sleep because of the stress of the work I wasn't able to do. In addition to all of that our reservations were completely messed up. I had booked side by side sites with my sister so we could camp together and the kids could just run back and forth without needed a chaperone. We also booked a 50 amp site for our motorhome and both sites were supposed to be pullthru. We paid $25 for each site to lock them in so we wouldn't get bumped. We arrive and our site is a pullthru (barely big enough for our rig), not beside my sister's site and not 50 amp. Her site was down the road a little and not a pull through so my brother in law was not happy. According to the office I didn't book side by side sites and booked a 30 amp site for both. Well, I have been doing this long enough to know how to book a site. I did find out that the person who booked our reservations is new. We decided to make the best of it since we had no other options at this point. The office said they would check with maintenance to see if they had an adaptor we could use for the 30 amp site. We were told if they didn't have one we could borrow then we could buy one from the store. That didn't seem right to us since we booked a 50 amp. If we had booked a 30 amp site we would have brought our own adaptor. We never book 30 amps because it is recommended by the manufacturer not to use anything but 50. Luckily, Josh (I believe was his name), with maintenance and he is also a manager, gave us one from the store to borrow. He ended up being the most helpful out of everyone. So after many trips to the office, because we couldn't just call when we had a problem because of no cell service, we had voiced our dissatisfaction on Friday and Saturday. By Saturday afternoon I was just done. My stress level from the lack of wifi and cell service was to the point I couldn't enjoy my time with my family. I went to the office and asked if I could cancel the extended 2 days and get a refund for them. The women at the office (one was the new person who never once stepped up to say she was the one who booked our sites) said they would check with the manager and let me know the next day (Sunday) if we could leave Monday and be refunded for the added days. Yesterday around 4:00, more than 24 hours after my request, I went back to the store to find out. Well, the manager just found out about my issues because no one from the office, which I had visited everyday since we had been there, and she couldn't make a decision. After a lengthy discussion and hearing about how busy they have been I was informed that they would not be giving us a refund for those days and that they have never given a refund. So much for customer service and hospitality. A few other things to mention if you do stay here.....the bathhouse was so bad even my marine son in law wouldn't shower in them and the sweatshirt I bought my granddaughter had a hole in it. I didn't even bother trying to take it back. I am sure there would have been no refund or exchange. The one part I will give props for and that is that they had a lot of things for kids and families to do over the weekend. Most cost additional money but I am ok with that since supplies do cost money.

We were there for Memorial Day weekend. The park was full. We have Verizon and had zero or one bar cell phone signal. Were not able to use data were able to receive calls occasionally. We have Verizon hot spot but could not use it - no signal. Park wifi was extremely slow and dropped all the time. It rained and the roads are gravel and dirt, so very muddy. The roads in the park are very narrow, hilly, twisty, and lots of trees. We were very careful but caught the back ladder on a tree sticking out... Read More

People next to us were up until 1 am talking and laughing loudly outside. There seem to be no park rules - we were not given any upon check in. The park's water tank ran dry so we had no water the third day. Did not use restrooms so did not rate. On a positive note, the water was clear and tasted fine.

Very small sites with a LOT of long term residents. Only long term residents could have atvs or golf carts and it was a constant parade all day long. I could barely fit my vehicle in the site when my 20 foot camper was in it.
