We selected this campground based on the GoodSam ratings and reviews, and were disappointed. The staff was great, but we were unprepared for the traffic noise. The campground is right off US-20 that runs through the town of Thermopolis. We could see that on the map what I didn't realize is that it's right where the speed limit decreases upon entering the town from the south, and all the semi-trucks are using their exhaust brakes to slow down - all night long. We could see that on the map what I didn't realize is that it's right where the speed limit decreases upon entering the town from the south, and all the semi-trucks are using their exhaust brakes to slow down - all night long. The pictures show grassy sites - of which we were in one of the few most of the sites are gravel. Sites were fairly level, and all of the amenities worked well. The restrooms were clean, but a bit dated the locks on the outside doors were broken, but gave the illusion of requiring a code. Although it's hard to describe any part of Thermopolis as metropolitan, this had the feel of an older, urban RV park. If only staying for 1 night on our way through, it would have been fine. But we stayed for 3 nights, and that was too long.

First off, I would rate the owners 10 out of 5!!! Upon arrival, was warmly greeted with the rules clearly articulated and when asking about one thing to do in town, I left with a number of considerations 20 minutes later. Also chatted with them on other occasions and found them to be very pleasant. When arriving at the site, I had one issue from the people who stayed here before me and they addressed it in less than 10 minutes. Also chatted with them on other occasions and found them to be very pleasant. When arriving at the site, I had one issue from the people who stayed here before me and they addressed it in less than 10 minutes. We stayed at the Eagle RV resort for 4 nights (stay more than overnight to enjoy Thermopolis). It is a nice, small family campground and although it seems you are a little close to your neighbors, especially if you have a very large rig, we really did not find it to be an issue. The bathrooms were adequate and very clean as was the laundry room and the utilities were easy to access with no issues. The longer term resident sites are not cluttered. Cellular was decent (T-Mobile and Verizon at 2 bars), you have access to more than 80 cable channels and the WiFi was very good most of the day. You are right off US20 with a little road noise during the day but after 8 pm, very little traffic. This is nice for convenience to the Wind River Canyon and Thermopolis. Speaking of noise, the campground has rules and they follow them (which I greatly appreciate). They are posted in the office, they tell you about them during check in and they are written on the handout. Quiet hours start at 10 pm and if you have problems abiding by them, they will nicely remind you. For dogs, they must be on a leash and connected to a person and it is expected that you clean up after them. I am amazed how many people have challenges remembering this. All in all, a fun time in Thermopolis and would stay here again.

We stayed 4 nights. Level gravel sites, clean restrooms and friendly helpful staff. Park is older but everything worked well. There isn't much of a dog walking area. The sites are short so we had to park our truck in another site. You would have to unhook here. This is the nicest park in Thermopolis and we would stay there again.

While on a cross country trip we stopped for one night in Thermopolis, WY on our way to Cody and Yellowstone. This stay was one of our two best so far on our trip. The people or own the park and those working there are the nicest most helpful people you could ask for. They went out of there way to accommodate us and help us with finding the attractions in their lovely town. If ever in the area again we will certainly stay there.

Recently revamped layout makes getting into sites easier than at last visit. Nice park with friendly, helpful owners and staff!

Rate reflects Good Sam Discount. Electric was steady, water pressure was low at 35PSI. Very tight parking spaces, way too close, way overpriced. The neighbors sewer hose connected under the picnic table for our site. No room to put up a chair to sit out; couldn't use picnic table because of sewer hose. No parking at the site unless you want to be in the road, we were told to park beside our unit, car being in the roadway. First neighbor had it worse; he had to park his toad by the playground,... No parking at the site unless you want to be in the road, we were told to park beside our unit, car being in the roadway. First neighbor had it worse; he had to park his toad by the playground, out of site of his unit. The gentleman who parked us was friendly enough, told us to park and set up then go check in but check-in was handled by a young man who could not have been less interested. No enthusiasm for the town or suggestions on what to see or do. These spaces are so close it is ridiculous. If this park limited itself to 32 feet and under, it would probably be ok.but they are not big rig friendly, turns are tight and roads are narrow. The morning we left our new neighbor informed us he would not be disconnecting or moving his truck which was parked in the road. We had to back out of a pull thru space to leave. Manager was aware of issue and did nothing. There are a couple of good size spaces, but these are apparently for locals and repeat business, not overnight or those staying a couple of days. When I made the reservation, I specially asked not to be near the playground. We were given the space closest to a very busy playground. We would not stay here again and would not recommend it, especially for big rigs.

Think one that gave this park a very poor review was very wrong and spiteful. My wife and I have stayed in several parks in Thermopolis and Eagle is by far the best one. Nice level sites some are a short sites but the staff accomadates the parking of your vehicle once we unhooked.. Cable tv is clear and nice.power hookups great. This as all rv parks here are older parks with shorter sites however there wer several 45ft rigs in sites next to us. Lots of mature shade trees. Nice laundry facilities.... Read More

Less than 2 miles to state park hotsprings and water park. Will definitely stop next year on our way to Montana. Oh yea free coffee in the morning.

The staff is great! Super helpful and friendly. But I am here to rate the RV park and the facilities. I don't blame the employees that this place is below average. Based on the other ratings I would not have expected mold in the bathroom or paint peeling on the wall. The sites are not very level, the park is very small and tight to get in and out of. I am not saying this place is a dump but expect a below average stay. I paid $38 a night and that was a bit on the high end for what we got.... Read More

Stayed while visiting the local hot springs. Campground has some of the cleanest bathrooms I have seen. Spaces are level and enough space for a picnic table and trailer a little more space would have been nice. Very clean and workers were helpful.
