A decade ago, this place was nice considering it's in the desert, but now no cable, no wifi, no maintenance. It is definitely in need of maintenance. Very little water pressure, holes everywhere, low tree branches. We were told there was an issue with their water pump so we would be without water for a few hours, but even once it was fixed the water pressure was terrible - as if they were just putting bandaids on their water system and not fixing it properly. We have stayed at other places in... Read More

We have stayed at other places in the desert that were beautifully maintained, landscaped and level, but this is not one of them.

I'd give this place zero stars if I could! If you want to ruin your trip to Big Bend just plan to camp at this place! The staff is rude, nothing works properly, the dust is unbearable and yet they call it a "resort"! I'd drive a hundred miles rather than stay here again!
No potable water. Told by receptionist that it was a temporary problem and that the water was merely high in mineral content. Other staff said the water was unsafe and could only be used to flush toilets and that the problem was persistent. Also water sprigot fell apart resulting in fountain. Site slooped badly. Second site had broken electrical plug. Staff complainef that the management refuses to spend any money on maintenance. They have lost repeat customers. In camping... Read More

In camping at 12 plus campgronds a year, this "resort" is one of the worst.

Cons: The facility is in disrepair, rows of RV pads are empty because the power does not work. The 50A plug at our pad was broken, so we had to run on 30A for a day. It was repaired on day two. There was no wifi or cable working except for in the game room. The laundry facility was a dump, 10 of 20 dryers had notes taped to they that they did not work and it was filthy. Rest rooms were not cleaned for at least 3 days. Pros: The staff was friendly and courteous. The park is very close to Big Bend... Read More

We spent most of our time hiking in Big Bend and the state park and enjoyed our stay in the area.

staff unfriendly and very unhelpful. instead of a pull thru that we requested a month in advance we were put in a back in that was so short the rear of our couch was hanging 8 ft off the ground. The site does not have wifi. wifi is only available in the "gameroom" contrary to their ad. If you have any thing other than a bumper pull or a fifth wheel stay in Ft Stockton of Alpine and drive into the park.
We were very happy with our stay here. We were in a pull through site. The sites are gravel but didn't get muddy when it rained. (We had a little rain during our stay). The management was very friendly and helpful. The electrical, water and sewer connections were all good. No problems there. The wifi signal was good and fast. I like the fact that there is a gas station with both gasoline and diesel near the entrance to the RV park as well as a store and restaurant. We will definitely stay here again... Read More

The old cable TV hookups need to be completely removed. Because of their locations, people trip over them very easily.....especially at night. Need to have sites ready when campers arrive.
We stayed here for 3 nights. Easy drive to park entrance. The park is called a resort-not sure what that means here. Entire lot is gravel-white dust. The area is windy so the dust was flying. The bathrooms are nice but were pay showers. Used my own. Laundry is next door-did not use. Office personnel very nice. Would stay here again.
The area for RV was nothing more than a crushed caliche lot with hookups. Our site #33 had gray water refuse where a previous camper didn't properly drain. Early one morning a food service truck (18 wheeler) came in and sent caliche and dust flying . . the white residue settled everywhere and folks with open windows didn't look happy. The showers they provided required quarters to use. Good thing we didn't need that "amenity". We've never had a bad experience with a Good Sams RV park - not... Read More

This is desert camping but it should not be called a resort very dry and dusty
Park is near the Big Bend park entrance. Large park with dirt roads and dirt sites. Both back in and drive thru sites are large with good availability to services. Roads are rough but manageable. No on air television available, but was able to pick up one Mexican radio station. Park provides WiFi, good at office, so-so at site. The next time we go to Big Bend will stay here.
