We always look forward to staying at Spring Creek campground! In our opinion, it is the nicest out of all Good Sam campgrounds ever, and trust me, we have stayed at many over many years. The campground is located just outside Big Timber. Big Timber has great bars, historic buildings and unique shopping experiences. Be sure to check out the antique store just on the edge of town! Spring Creek campground is located just outside of town on the Boulder river. We were lucky this year to snag a spot on the river. In the past we have camped on the grounds, which are also nice as the property is so well groomed and maintained. River spots sell out first, so best to reserve in advance. There are fishing ponds to enjoy as well, wonderful for family experiences. The owners are super nice and very accommodating. What we also enjoy is that the spots are all decent sized. Not crammed together like others we have stayed at. There is a gate that locks at night (you are given the pass number at check in) at the park entrance so a total sense of security. WIFI connection excellent. It is a beautiful place to camp, enjoy the sounds and sights of nature and I highly recommend staying here.

We are full-time RVers who are still working, so that colors our perspective. We booked a 2 week stay (one would think 14 nights) here. We never received an email confirmation. There was no way to get mail at this location. The spot we were at was pretty, but one side of our trailer was along the road. Although the speed limit was 5 miles an hour, it wasn't enforced and even the employees in the carts broke it. People would linger outside our trailer to talk or have cell phone conversations, seemingly oblivious to being within a foot or so of the side of our trailer. There are very few sites with full hookups and this wasn't one. This was a major inconvenience as every 4-5 days we had to drag the rig up to the dump station. There were lots of kids, some well-behaved, some not. But it seems to be a great place for families with kids to stay for a few days. There's a lot of space for them to run and laugh and fish and spend time with grandparents. There is also a lovely pavilion with some gas grills that is lovely for family reunions. On the 14th day (before the 14th night), they said we were supposed to be leaving. We weren't prepared for that, but they were able to get us another spot by the river. These spots, as are many, are all rock. The river view is nice, but the rigs are close together. Again, no full hookups due to the river. Since we also heard of other people with reservation problems, I strongly suggest you get the reservation in writing. A few other things bothered me. I never got a wave or hello from the employees, even though I smiled and waved every time I saw them. Also, there was a huge political flag flying next to the American flag on the property. Most people come to escape reality for a while. Not dealing with politics plus a simple wave would make the stay more pleasant. If you are a family with young children, this might be the place for you. We won't be back.

I would have given a much higher rating but we were very disappointed in our site. Our site was changed at the last minute because larger RV came in and was given the site we were supposed to be in. Our site then ended up being a pull in site in which we were barely, and I mean barely able to connect our water and power. The people there were okay but not very helpful.

Nice place, but we stayed in mid April just after they opened for the season. Snow had not been gone long. They only had a small number of sites up and running. Rest rooms were being rebuilt and were unavailable (why I left that rating blank). Sites not very level. A beautiful setting, a ton of potential. Want to try the place again in prime season.

This is a nice little park. Peaceful with a creek/river running alongside of it. I would agree with past reviews that say it is “out of the way” which is good, but the ¼ mile of gravel road to get to the park is not what I anticipated. And, although we reserved a site with full hook ups, the sewer was not easily accessible, so we did not use that or the water hook ups. We were able to get to and stay in the park in our 45’ coach but I would not agree that this is a big rig “friendly” park. We were only looking for a place to stop overnight but think I would look for a park a little easier to get in and out of next time.

The campground is located outside of town along the Boulder River. Make sure that you follow the directions on their web site to find it. About half of the campsites are by the river although most of the sites have the river at one end of the site. There are two private fishing ponds at the campground which are stocked. You can fish in the river with a Montana fishing license. There are two bathhouses with a men’s restroom, men’s shower, ladies’ restroom and ladies’ shower in each. The bathhouses are average in cleanliness. The sites are gravel and level. When the river is high, some of the campground has poor drainage. A common pavilion is next to one of the ponds. Wifi, although advertised, is very spotty with good signal strength but poor internet connectivity. We went into Big Timber and used the free wifi at the Carnegie Library to check our e-mail. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though they messed up our reservation campsite location they did their best to make it right.

We were there for one night, and due to snow en route, we were an hour late. They called to check up on us, and when we arrived the team member was there in the pouring rain to guide us to our spot and make sure we were set. We had a wonderful site right next to the river, and though it was just water and electric, it was delightful and met our needs. The grounds were well kept and if we had the opportunity we would come back again and stay for a bit longer. It is a relatively small campground and there seemed to be space and picnic tables at all the RV sites.
