We enjoy camping at Oak Grove. The spaces are large, the bathrooms are nice and cool and the kids have plenty of room to ride their bikes, play frisbee or whatever suites them. However, this time we stayed was a last minute trip. We didn't arrive until after dark and we had a friend that was also setting up across from us. However, this time we stayed was a last minute trip. We didn't arrive until after dark and we had a friend that was also setting up across from us. The park rangers, I know were doing their jobs but we felt slightly harrassed. The first ones that came through were very nice but said our boat couldn't be parked in the grass or we would receive a fine. So we moved it to the space next to us and were going to pay for an extra spot. Maybe 15 mins later another came through asking about the boat and told us it had to be moved but that we could park it in the grass. Confused and hoping not to be fined that's what we did. Then the next day we were sitting out listening to music on the radio. The park ranger came by and asked us to turn it off because it was after 10 pm and they have a quiet time. We were fine with that except for the fact that our neighbors listened to their music LOUDLY well after 10. The last look at my watch it was 12:20. I feel the rangers needed to be all on the same page and enforce the rules with everyone. And finally, my biggest complaint was the grass was very tall. I highly encourage you take a weed eater or small lawn mower.
