This is the best tent camping in Glacier Park. The location is not West Glacier as stated above. It's near St. Mary, Montana. I could have given four stars for one or more rating categories, but the location is so awesome that I have to give it five. The area and facilities are clean. The bathrooms are spaced ideally throughout the camping area. There are no showers in the campground, but there is a shower area with pay showers (I believe $4.00 per) behind the camp store. This is the best tent camping in Glacier Park. The location is not West Glacier as stated above. It's near St. Mary, Montana. I could have given four stars for one or more rating categories, but the location is so awesome that I have to give it five. The area and facilities are clean. The bathrooms are spaced ideally throughout the camping area. There are no showers in the campground, but there is a shower area with pay showers (I believe $4.00 per) behind the camp store. The camp store is well stocked. The restaurant is great. As busy as this area is, I've never waited more than 15 minutes for a table.
Although there are no hookups, you can get a camper into many of the spaces. Don't even think of bringing anything near or greater than 30 feet. Some sites are first come first served, but you should get there before 7 am. Some sites are available by reservation, but those go fast and early. No cell service or Wifi. There are also motel rooms and cabins at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. These also get reserved many months ahead of time. The historic Many Glacier Hotel is a mile away and a must visit.
