The campground sites are mostly shaded which is good for summer days as it can get quite hot here. Winter time the camp is below snow level and above the valley fog. Aside from a couple of event days at the adjoining state park the camp is quiet and not heavily used. It is just a short walk to the meadow with the grinding rock, several exhibits and the main museum. the bathrooms are clean and nice including the showers... bring quarters... lots of them if you like long showers.
