Appeal Rating This is a small state park campground with 22 camp sites. There are several spaces that will accommodate large units, some larger than the max length listed on the spec page. That page is also wrong about slide outs... most sites will accommodate them. Also wrong is the no tents... each site has a flat space just for a tent. The paved sites are mostly level but the site themselves are mostly not... though there usually is enough for some chairs and such. The campground sites are mostly shaded which is good for summer days as it can get quite hot here. Winter time the camp is below snow level and above the valley fog. Aside from a couple of event days at the adjoining state park the camp is quiet and not heavily used. It is just a short walk to the meadow with the grinding rock, several exhibits and the main museum. the bathrooms are clean and nice including the showers... bring quarters... lots of them if you like long showers.
