This park is easy to get to, nicely wooded, peaceful, and quiet, but BEWARE FIRE ANTS AND BAD MAINTENANCE. We pulled in in the rain, picked a site, hooked up, but didn't notice that the electric box was falling apart ..... because fire ants were stinging their way up my legs. I thought I had bumped the little visible ant nest next to the concrete drive. WRONG!!! When unhooking the next morning I discovered that ALL the grass around the concrete pad was swarming with ants. I got another series of bites while unhooking. Over 200 total!! As I unplugged from the electrical box (in a big hurry) the next morning the box fell apart. I will not return to this campground.

Stayed here for one night on a 9,000 mile tour of the country. We have become advocates of State Parks and Corp of Engineer Parks on this trip. It is late November here now with the numerous trees shedding leaves but still considerable color. The park has numerous parking spots (mostly paved) for larger trls but some are a bit steep getting into but manageable. We have electricity, water and a dump station. We are the only ones here today and throughly enjoy the quiet forestry setting. We have stayed at mostly State Parks this lengthy trip when available and find them all to be in good repair (sometimes better than private (or equal) and a very reasonable price. Go State Parks!!!
