Don't let the name and main function of the trapshooting range scare you away. This is a beautiful campground, separate from the shooting range. They host big events, but there was no shooting or noise while we were there. The campground is quite large - hundreds of sites. There are 100s of sites. We stayed at the loop around the small lake, which I recommend. Campsites have lots of space between them around this loop, and there are lots of cabins too. Roads are wide, easy for those backing in. Great playground for kids and beautiful setting. There is a gazebo overlooking the pond, plenty of trees and shade. There is an indoor pool which looked nice but we did not use. Reason for four stars rather than five was highway noise and difficulty finding campground. Signage on 61 is nonexistent. Located alongside I-71 so there is loud highway noise all night, even over the air conditioning. Also, our site was quite short and we had to disconnect our vehicle (we only have a 17 ft trailer) or we would have been in road even though we only stayed one night. Most sites are not this short. This campground is very convenient for one night stopovers but it is loud. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were just passing through, but was really taken by surprise at this park. It was covered in TRUMP 2020 flags, etc. We are not Trump supporters, but respect that everyone has a choice. The way this park was blanketed with the political stuff made our stay very uncomfortable. Also, our site was pretty much in a parking lot looking across to the shooting range. Not much ambiance at all. Also, no cable connection, just the 5 standard channels and an unsecure internet. Wouldn't stay here again.

Pull thru plenty large enough for a 40 ft coach and toad. Our site, 428, had good utilities and no problem leveling but, the power post was about 2 feet from the end of our shore power cord. Most of the sites had a better power pole layout. We had to use our 30 amp extension. Very nice heated indoor pool. Did not use restrooms/showers so no rating, National college trap shooting competition and a hunting club dinner made for a lot of activity. Yes it can get noisy and is very close to the interstate. Not an issue for us as it was cold and windows were closed. Wi-Fi a bit weak at our spot but good enough for google maps. Farmstead restaurant is an easy walk, about 15 minutes. Many area campgrounds are closed for the season, so not a lot of options.

This was a 3 night planned stay over Labor Day weekend. I knew it was near the Interstate but not within feet. Also, they have a huge shooting range - which is at the front of the campground so you hear pop,pop constantly during the day. We believe they must of been having some type of contest/competition. We were thankful for a rain storm on Sat. so it stopped. The site we were given was un-level and once we were setup it made it hard to climb into or out of the unit. They did offer to move us - to a site that looked like it faced a dump. We definitely would not stay again.

This was just a stop over for us but we were interested in the shooting range that they had on-site. Very cool. The pull-thrus were spacious. We had some difficultly with our site because our electric was at the back of our rig and our sewer was more to the front. The hookups how they were spaced did not work for us but they quickly moved us to another spot - no problem. There really isn't anything around the campground - just a small exit from the Interstate. The campground is right next to the interstate so the traffic noise bothered my husband but not me. I think we would stay again and this time bring our firearms for the range. Cool!
