Let me just start by saying don't waste your time or your money at this location. The lots that they had to offer were okay, but were placed very close to one another. The prices were outrageously expensive compared to other close by locations. After many years of camping, kayaking, and fishing, I do believe this is the worst experience my family and I have had. The owners of this camp do not care about you and act as though you are some criminal that just came out of nowhere. Personally, I felt as though we were being watched by our every move. The owners were very rude from the start of the trip. After making reservations months in advance and driving more than three hours away from home to make it to this location, the owners almost refused our business, due to bringing our own kayaks. Our family was going to self transport our own kayaks like we do every time we go, but without a chance to even say two words, we were told that our company wasn't welcome with our boats. After arguing for about half an hour, we were told that we could camp, but next time we weren't welcome to bring our own equipment. Keep in mind there were loads of other campers and tents with kayaks laying beside them. When having breakfast the next morning, the owner approached our table very rudely, and demanded to talk to "Melissa", which there was no one in our family by that name. We were told that family reunions were not welcome in their site. Our family rented two spots right next to each other, and all we were trying to do was eat breakfast before starting our day. I felt as though we were being treated like children, and the owner on multiple occasions stopped at our site accusing us of cars being parked at our site, while all of our cars were gone during the whole day for a kayaking trip. I highly recommend looking for a different location. You'll be much happier without babysitters looking over your back every 5 seconds.

Nice small very quiet wooded park on the Current River with all the hookups including cable and WiFi that worked well. Good gravel roods and gravel pads. Clean bathroom/shower facilities. Very friendly owners that went beyond the call for me. I left my key on when we arrived resulting in a dead battery and they let me barrow a battery charger to get me going again. Easy access and roomy for easy parking and not right on top of your neighbor. There are a number of long term users but all were clean, friendly, and quiet. Some may not like the less than manicured look but it was perfect for me. Paid $28 w gs

Interesting campground to stay at. Some of the interior gravel roads needed fixing but management said that was being done the day we left. They were also expanding the width of some of their pull-thru sites. The pull-thrus were long and mostly level. The WIFI was great and basic cable TV solid. Restrooms were very clean. The campground is older than some we have been in but the atmosphere was laid back and easy-going. Management and employees reflected those attributes. Would go back there if in the area again.

We stayed 1 night while traveling through the area. The access to the park from US-60 (a divided 4 lane highway) requires passing through an uncontrolled intersection so turning off or onto the US-60 posses a slight hazard. Then travel is along a narrow rural residential road. And finally, the driveway into the park is steep creating the possibility of scraping or high centering. However, we didn’t experience either of these problems. The park DID NOT respond to any contacts online (electronic messages) even through their own website. Had to call the park directly to make reservations. The owner apologized for not responding to the electronic messages. The basic rate is for 30 AMP service. There is a $3.00/night charge for 50 AMP service. The interior roads and site parking pads are gravel. The roads were narrow considering they were for 2-way traffic. The pull through sites were long enough for coaches and their toads. The sites were generally level. There is not much privacy between the sites as the sites are close to each other. They have full hook ups – water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were towards the middle to rear of the sites. The sewer fitting was above ground creating the potential for an uphill flow. There was an outside table and fire pit. There are some trees/canopy that could make satellite reception hit and miss depending on site assignment and your dish configuration. Didn’t try to get any broadcast channels. The provided WiFi was adequate but it was dependent on how close your site is to the office. Our NET10 phone reception was acceptable. No designated fenced pet area but there was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. There was only one dumpster near the office to dispose of waste. For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. No structure was identified as a severe weather shelter. Probably would stay here again if traveling through the area but only for a night.

This is a very nice facility, with camp sites along the river. A few residents, but overall a nice and quiet camping experience. All camp sites have water, sewer, electric, cable and fire rings. There is wifi available.
