The pro's: Location is excellent right off of 35w with a gas station/general store maybe 1/2 mile away. Banning State Park is just down the road. The firewood was the best I've ever used and great quality. The con's: We had a full hookup 'premium' site and were excited for our first time at Banning. We checked in and were shown our site on the campground map. First off, the sites weren't numbered. Second, I almost drove past the 'site'. The site was a mud pit with a thin gravel pad that... We checked in and were shown our site on the campground map. First off, the sites weren't numbered. Second, I almost drove past the 'site'. The site was a mud pit with a thin gravel pad that was not close to level. I checked with a worker--That was the site. Broken tree roots were sticking out of the mud throughout the site and made it easy to trip . The water hookup was a faucet with a splitter attached to supply the neighboring site. The water pressure was horrible. The sewer pipe stuck out at least 10" above grade and was level with the outlet from our camper. This became a problem because the hose can't drop down to drain. I had to jimmy rig a path for the hose to try and give it some pitch but it wasn't very effective. The electric hookup was fine. This and the neighboring sites had been recently built. They still have a LONG way to go before they are ready to rent to people. A complete and total mud pit. One of the workers told me when I complained that they knew they had drainage issues with the site but couldn't figure out how to fix them. This is simply unacceptable to rent out. When we made the reservation we told them we had small children and were looking for a site with room to play. This is what they gave us. Mud. Overall, there are some strong positives about Banning RV with activities for children, outdoor games, crafts, etc. I can't understand why they would take shortcuts with a few horrible sites and hurt their reputation. I know it was Memorial Day weekend and things get a little crazy, but quiet hours weren't remotely enforced. 11:30pm at night a large drunkfest across the road from us had generators running and profanity loud enough to reach the heavens.

On our way home, looking for a couple of nights with full hookup. Knew there was no cable but thought "free high speed internet" advertised (see map) would be available at our site. Told it was available at the pavilion. We were 100 yds clear to pavilion zero bars. When questioned, manager said, "we advertise dump site too", that doesn't mean you don't have to drive to it. Trying to do too much with too little. Projects incomplete, trees, limbs and boulders hindering turns. No trash barrels in... Read More

Pavillion may have had WIFI, but no bathrooms, shower or laundry as posted. Blacked out on my map. Playground consists of a few plastic Tiny Tike like toys. Maybe 25 out of well over 300 sites used, some were seasonal. Lot of noise from freeway and outdoor concert at Banning Crossing. Could still be a decent park, but certainly needs a lot of work.
