We reserved campsite on Oct 7th, 2015 for the night of Oct 24th for one night and were told there were plenty of campsites available. Received an emailed confirmation that day with campsite #B-22 shown on the reservation confirmation. When we arrived and had checked in, they put us in B16, stating they had the right to change sites at will (which is stated no where on their web-site or reservation confirmation). We were escorted to our site, but then were stopped short and were told to pull into B5 instead (another on-the-fly change). We backed in, begin to hook up, and more problems began to arise. The campsite's utility hook ups were at the road, and the hook ups on our camper were at the back. We stretched our electrical cord all the way out (25') and were able to reach the utility pole, barely, leaving our truck in the street. Water was not a problem. Sewer, though was another challenge. Our bathroom is on the the back of the camper and the campsite sewer portal was at the front. With all 4 of our pieces and all the connectors we had, we were able to hook-up the blackwater sewer, but unable to connect the grey water because we ran out of sewer hose and connectors, which has never happened to us in our entire camping career. Same issue with cable hook-up -- cable connection on campsite was at the road, but cable connection on camper was on the back and not enough cable to reach (needed about 50ft). At one point, just after we pulled into our campsite, we were asked to move our truck so another camper could get by. We had not even been given 10 minutes to get our truck disconnected from the camper!!!
This was a very poorly designed campsite, as most campers' utilities are either midway or in the rear of the camper. Every other campground we've stayed at have had utilities located either midway or near the rear of the campsites. Several more campsites in the campground were designed like this as well. The man camping next to us had the same issue and couldn't even pull his very large 5th wheel camper all the way into the campsite. I spoke to one of the staff members (an apparent manager) soon after we arrived about this issue, and he seemed unconcerned. I went back up to the office to speak to the staff again, after we had finished trying to hook everything up, and were told they would refund our money and we could be on our way. The most obvious fix would have been to have moved us to another campsite that would have better accommodated our camper hook-up needs (the campsite was less than 1/2 full), but no such offer was made after either conversation. The IDEAL solution would have been to have better matched our camper's needs to the correct campsite from the beginning (again, the campground was less than 1/2 full), but for some reason this concept appeared to be a challenge to the staff working that day. The staff as a whole appeared to be very incompetent, unconcerned about their customers needs, RUDE, and unprofessional. Will NEVER stay here again, nor will we ever recommend this campground to anyone else. Additionally, the campground is adjacent to a major interstate and is VERY noisy. Not sure how they expect to stay in business if they are this unconcerned about accommodating the basic needs of their paying customers. Maybe that's one reason they were less than 1/2 full, and the other campgrounds in the area were completely booked.
