If you are looking for a laid-back, really relaxed experience, HIllcrest is the place for you. The restrooms were clean, the grounds were mowed and the wifi signal was good. Other than that, the park is badly in need of repair and management. They have a lovely little office building, but it appears to be unused. On the front, there is a whiteboard with six phone numbers listed randomly. I was waiting for the fourth to answer when I noticed someone walking up the road towards me. The wifi password was delivered on my second day there, the rules on my third day and the electrical bill was shoved in my door while I was away on the fourth day. Despite paying $3 a day for electricity, the rules say electrical heaters are not allowed. The pool is probably the largest free-standing backyard pool you can get from Walmart, maybe 15-20 feet in diameter and 3.5 feet high. When it was opened partway through my stay, it was littered with leaves and other debris and did not get cleaned out over the next 3-4 days. The clubhouse, that is advertised as having a full kitchen, does not. The building appears to be divided in three parts and only the center, approximately 20 x 20' is the 'clubhouse. This would probably be sufficient for a small park like this one except for the clutter of furniture and personal items. It looks like an untidy person's living room, with clothing, throws, a laptop on a tv/card table, a printer on the floor, multiple bottles of nail polish. A rack of clothing is partially hidden behind a room divider, a broken table appears to be holding up the room divider, a large box that appears to be clothing/bedding with several gym/carry on bags on top of it. There is a wall rack with brochures/magazines jammed between several pieces of furniture on the floor. The drop ceiling is covered with stains. Not at all inviting. The laundry room consists of two washers and two dryers, located IN the clubhouse, no dividing wall or anything to reduce the sound. One of the washers had its drum out all week. On my last day there, the drum was back in and the hostess was working on it. I asked if it was working and she told me it was she was just giving it a good cleaning out. Turns out, neither of the dryers was working properly, one not at all and the other overheating & turning itself off. They were still working on it at six in the evening. This park is inexpensive and would certainly work for some people - with space to run & a kiddie pool, and decent washrooms, but is not up to the Coast standards I have seen everywhere else I have visited.

1. Okay, where do we start, this is a "glorified cattle pasture, with RV hookups". If you like roughing it, this is the place to visit! 2. There is NEVER anyone in the "office", and there is NO Security or locked gate, that we can see. 3. Yes, there is a Pool, but don't try to swim in it, unless your next visit is to the E.R. - it appears to HAVE NOT been cleaned out in over a year. 4. The signage declares 50/30-amp, but be sure to have a 30-amp adapter with you, since there ISN'T any 50-amp sites available, and currently, they charge $3 per day PLUS TAX for Electric. 6. "The Lodge" is suppose to be a meeting room, but parts of it has been converted over to the on-site Camp Host living quarters and storeroom. The Washer/Dryer that's available, if you can get past all the stuff on the floor, and by the way, even though there are "No Smoking in the Buildings Rule", this "Lodge" reeks of old and new Tobacco Smoke. 7. The Park Host, when available, is very adamant on how and where to park, and if you tow your car on a Tow-dolly, you MUST remove it before parking, even though 4-down towing is allowed to park as is. 8. There is concrete drainage throughout the Park, but these are covered by PLASTIC Grading, so, this is the main reason the Host is so worried about where and how you drive! 9. Calling this place a Resort, is like calling a Fast Food Restaurant a High-Classed Dinner! This place is at least 5 steps below a "Resort", and that's putting it nicely!
