Sitting in my portable rocking chair in the restful evening on the bank of the Platt River, beneath the Cottonwood trees, watching the warblers, listening to the cooing of Mourning Doves, I did that for three evenings and found it enjoyable and restful enough that we extended our stay for another three nights. The restrooms were clean. The trail was good for a twice a day saunter with binoculars. The volume of noise of the Interstate noise depended on the wind direction. Familes were present and the children were enjoying themselves the way we used to do sixty years ago. The kayaking is good. It's not a resort, it's a State Park, and it is what you make of it. We live full-time in our 19' Airstream, and if our travels bring us this back this way we will not hesitate to rest here again. Oh, the Nebraskan Midwesterners (most of the campers were Nebraskan) are of the friendliest sort.

The hostess was helpful, facility a little old, highway near with road noise, trails for walking poor. If you have kids the small impoundment might have possibilities. We only stayed overnight and will not be staying there again because, for us, there are more pleasant places in the area.
