One Tank Trip for Missouri Camping

Sponsored by: America's Best Campground www.abc-branson.com [email protected] Missouri may be something of a surprise for most visitors. The Show Me State has plenty to offer those that travel here, including world-class barbecue, smooth, sultry jazz, lazy days floating on rivers, and some of the best fishing spots in the world. Our one tank trip begins in the incomparable Kansas City. Straddling the border of Kansas and Missouri, this double city lies at the junction of the Kansas and Missouri Rivers. Once, this city was lined with stockyards, but all of that has given way to a graceful skyline, and a modern city with much to offer visitors. Now, there is barbecue, and then there is Kansas City barbecue, and once you've had it here, you'll soon understand what all the fuss is about, so grab as much as you can while you are here. Visitors will also enjoy the wealth of cultural activities this city has to offer, and for some wet and wild fun, pay a visit to Worlds of Fun. It is packed with more than 175 acres of twisting inner tube slides, a gigantic super pool, and much, much more. What a great place to cool off in those hot Missouri summer days! If it's world-class shopping and dining you're looking for, visit The Country Club Plaza, Kansas City's premier shopping, dining and entertainment district. Spanning 15 blocks, the Plaza is filled with big name stores, charming boutiques, special events, and it’s a great place to get one of those famous Kansas City steaks you've probably heard so much about, and will need after all that splashing at Worlds of Fun! Heading off to our next Missouri RV camping destination, take I-70 E out of Kansas City. After several miles, merge onto MO-7 S and follow this road to our next merge onto MO-13 S. In a few hours, you will have arrived at Springfield. The city of Springfield has a compelling past, which can be discovered in a wealth of places throughout the city. Outdoor enthusiasts will get a thrill out of the Wonders of Wildlife, a museum dedicated to hunting and fishing. With an aquarium, several displays, and hundreds of live animals in natural habitats, it's a place worth exploring. The Wilson's Creek National Civil War Battlefield commemorates the first major Civil War engagement west of the Mississippi involving thousands of troops, and visitors can tour the grounds of the battleground site, and explore the museum located here. The site is a fascinating look into this city's interesting past, and a definite must see. Moving on to our last Missouri RV camping stop, take US-65 S to US-65 N, and in a little over an hour you'll have arrived in Branson. From it's location nestled along the Ozarks, Branson has been widely known as an area outdoor enthusiasts flock to all year for the wealth of camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other wonderful outdoor opportunities. Lake Taneycomo is one such jewel where anglers will find some of the finest trout fishing in the world. It's from these waters that numerous state records have been earned, and all methods of trout fishing can be used here year-round. It's a fantastic opportunity for any fish chaser, and one you should take advantage of during your visit. In recent years, Branson has become a city with a reputation as a family oriented entertainment mecca right here in the Midwest. There are an enormous amount of theatrical performances ranging through every genre of music imaginable. One of the most popular destinations in Branson is Silver Dollar City. This incredible place transports visitors back to the simple times of the 1880s with a craft village filled with numerous rides, attractions, and festivals. One thing is for sure, this place will keep you moving with so much to do and see! If you make Missouri a one tank trip destination spot, one thing is for sure; you'll be surprised by the natural beauty, friendly people, and incredible wealth of outdoor recreation to be found here.
