Stayed at this park, Baby Nugget for 1 night. Man at check-in was very rude, refused to give us the "Good Sam" discount that they offer unless we paid by cash! Otherwise campground was ok, they had a restaurant that was also ok with good service.

We camped at the Baby Nugget RV Park one night in early September 2018. The advertising and photos in the Milepost and online made this place look much more grand than it really is. While the staff was friendly, they appeared to be tired and glad the end of the tourist season was near. The Good Sam discount they offer was only available if you paid cash. If you choose to pay cash to receive this discount, be advised to pay only with Canadian dollars and count your change! Our campsite was easy... Read More

If you choose to pay cash to receive this discount, be advised to pay only with Canadian dollars and count your change! Our campsite was easy to access with enough room to maneuver our large 5th wheel trailer in. We camped here in the trees just off the Alaska Highway. The campsites are a little too close together. Our campsite had water and 50 amp electric service and cable TV. There was a sani-dump was available on site. Unfortunately, there was no water available at the dump station to properly wash out and leave some water in the black tank. The advertised Wi-Fi was weak and did not broadcast more than about 20 yards beyond the main building. We used their nice and clean laundry facilities during our stop. While using the laundry, we had a problem with one of the dryers and was pleased that the staff took care of the issue promptly. I thought this RV park was over priced at $38.50 per night (USD, 10% discounted price) compared to other similar options in the Watson Lake, YT area. Their convenient location at the junction of the Alaska and Cassiar Highways west of Watson Lake is their biggest positive. I may prefer to stay elsewhere next time through.

Stayed one night and a big disappointment. WiFi was advertised but discovered it could only be used in the restaurant, and they limited your time and usage. Restaurant meals very expensive, no senior meals or discounts. No place to dump garbage, instead a sign saying to deposit in bear proof bins along the highway. They did however, accept 'recycle bottles etc', but that was quite likely because they could turn them in for a refund. Very expensive $50 a night with no discounts for CAA or Good... Read More

Very expensive $50 a night with no discounts for CAA or Good Sam if a credit card was used and what is a $2.00 Recycle Fee for, which was added to the already overpriced site. Only water and hydro was provided for this price, and the advertising was misleading, because there was no WiFi at the sites. We traveled all through the Yukon during this period and this was the most expensive and disappointing RV Park that we stayed at. The site was satisfactory providing you were in the treed area. Otherwise, it was like a big empty open baseball field. Do NOT RECOMMEND.

Overpriced for the options extra costs to stay closer to store and washrooms. Restaurant very expensive no senior or child menu no groceries like bread and milk. Advertises wifi and supplies a password but then has almost threatening signs posted saying no talking FaceTime Skype etc voice communications will be subject to $5.00 a minute charge and immediate removal from park with no refund. Why even say there is wifi? Another sign says they cannot take unsorted garbage take it to the pullout... Read More

All in all not a very friendly place.

This park is not well run and the road in has very large and numerous potholes. The price is $49.95 plus tax and good sam discount only given if you pay in cash The RV site are pull through and a good size and fairly level but they advertise wifi and its not available at the rv sites only at office. and there is no cell service. Water & power only and the road to the sani dump is horrible. I would not stay here again mainly because it is extremely over priced for the area and for what is offered... Read More

My worst experience on my 2 month trip through Canada and Alaska. My daughter and I were attacked by big nasty Beetles causing significant wounds. The place is very dusty and dirty with debris scattered throughout. No trees. They advertise wifi but it's only good within a few feet of the lodge and they really don't want you using it. Avoid this place. It doesn't seem safe and it's certainly not very inviting.

I had read up on this place before going there and more or less knew what to expect. I stayed here rather than Watson Lake (where I stayed on the way to Alaska) because it's at the junction for the Cassiar Hwy and I did not want to drive an extra 40 miles (20 each way) to Watson Lake. We wanted to take the Cassiar Hwy for the return trip. So to the park itself, the other reviews are pretty much spot on. This is not an appealing park at all. It is very large but it was mostly empty when we stayed here. We asked for a site out in the boonies and we got it though we had to move because the site was inadequate for our pickup/trailer. The pull-thru site was not level. It had water/electric, no sewer. There is a sani-dump. And true, we did not find a garbage can either, had to carry our garbage to a rest area along the hwy that had a trash can. I would not stay here again.

This is one to avoid if at all possible. It is very overpriced for a Water and Electric site. The entrance and roads are full of potholes. The staff is rude, said I didn't have a reservation when I had an email confirming it. Got a site anyway, since no caravans where in at the time. They charge everyone a $2.00 recycle fee. Don't know what for, since they don't want you to leave any trash. In fact, they recommend you take it down the road. They do have a large recycle center for you to deposit... Read More

So you have to do the work for them. The original owners may have been Gold Miners but now the kids have a Gold Mine of their own, called an overpriced Campground. They're in a remote location, at a Highway Junction, and they are definitely taking advantage of it. Oh Yeah, and to top it off, the only way you get the Good Sam Discount is if you pay cash. Good Sam should drop them like a Hot Potato, but that won't happen as long as they're paying their fees.

Small short uneven campsites. Road is terrible going into the sites as well. WiFi is non-existant. Very small bathroom 1 for men and 1 for women. This is definitely a one-night stay campsite. The staff is really nice, though and it is a pet-friendly place. The only thing it really had going for it was that it wasn't right on the highway, so there wasn't a lot of road noise.

Expensive for a flat dusty field, old facilities with no 50 amp as advertised. Disorganized staff, Would not recommend.

Clean place, nice big spots with some treed sights (don't stay in the open area). Friendly people, nice cafe and giftshop. Only WiFii is at RV park office but you can pick it up in the laundry room. Best choice for Watson Lake area.

1 1 out of 5 stars 07/21/2016

Unlevel sites. Rough roads throughout. Signs stating children under 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult. Signs stating that if misuse of WiFi is detected that guests will be escorted off premises immediately with NO refund. All in all, a most disturbing RV park.

this place is really not up to Good Sam standards. The WiFi is non-existent, even at the office and the cable TV is a joke. The staff is friendly and tries to be helpful, but it is just too far in the boonies to have any electronic connections and should not advertise as having them. The bathrooms are not sufficient (one men's and one lady's bath to serve 79 sites) and although clean, are too small to be accomodating to such a large camp. And, I have never encountered a camp that has no facilities for garbage. They are conscientious about recycling, but it has to fit into their pre-sized recycling bins. As for "household trash" they advise that there is a roadside site up the road that can accept it. It is a convenient stopping point on the AlCan highway, but not much else to recommend it. The adjoining restaurant is a dumpy place that would best be skipped. Very disappointing stop.
