First it was acceptable for a one night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the sites are OK (and level). The utilites were all in working order. But I think they are too many sites for the size of the place. The roads are narrow and while the sites are long enough for most motorhomes and hitch mount trailers they are too short for the behemoth fifth wheels so lots of truck bodies sticking out into an already narrow road. I left at 5AM to avoid the inevitable crunch while the fifth... Read More

I left at 5AM to avoid the inevitable crunch while the fifth wheels hooked up which was a blessing because I caught sight of two bull moose and herds of elk on my early morning drive across the BigHorn on Hwy 16. So I can't feel bad about this place. It will do in a pinch.

We enjoyed our night here between Yellowstone and the Black Hills. Convenient location. Great service. Good size sites (even if you didn't pay for the patio!) The kids loved the playground too.
Didn't really know about "Longmire Days" in Buffalo until we tried to book a spot. Found out our timing coincided with this event and it was tough to find anything available. Had to settle for KOA. Seems to be what I always hear about KOA. Pay too much and get nothing special. Dusty gravel and dirt driveways, narrow site pad, 30amp electric and water only and paid $60 per night. I would generally expect to pay $30 or $40 for this. The trees need to be trimmed, couldn't put out my awnings... Read More

On the plus side the restrooms were very nice and super clean. I like the arrangement with separate individual shower closets away from the bathroom. This way you don't get people who step out of the shower and then seem to wander around the bathroom dripping water on the floor. Don't you normally dry off after a shower? Anyway, I don't recommend it at $60 per night.

We stayed a week through the 4th of July in a 30' 5th wheel. The park was pleasant and clean, the sites were level gravel with grass. The sites weren't too crowded. Staff was friendly but not too helpful, at least for us. There is a busy highway by one end of the camp and we were given the second site from it. When I asked to be moved farther from the road they said they could only move us 1 space to the 3rd. Many people came and went from better sites farther from the road, many with shade which... That said, once inside, the noise wasn't real loud but seeing the quiet, empty sites was aggravating. We would still have no problem staying there again.

The staff were great they escorted us to our site. We were here for one night so they put us in the back up site which were fine. There is a tiny creek that goes around the back side of the RV Park. Some of the other sites were very nice. I would stay here again.
Nice campground and hoist were very plesant and helpful. Bath house down by the creek offers confusion when entering. Unisex rest room and shower area. More clearly appointed signs would help reduce the confusion. Must say it was amusing watch individuals figuring out who or how to use the facility. If you stay here take a ride out HWY16 east to Ucross and then up to Sheridan for a very nice ride. HWY 16 west to Ten Sleep is great also. Take the one lane dirt road thru Crazy Woman canyon for... This is a great KOA. Lots of shady spots. The management is extremely nice and seem to enjoy their campground. We would definitely stay here again. Buffalo, WY is surprisingly interesting. The museum downtown is one of the best I've ever seen, quite organized and informative. In fact, I feel it cant be all done in one day.
