We booked an extended stay at the KOA Williamsburg and was placed on the quiet side...this KOA has 2 completely separate campgrounds. The quiet side campground has very few amenities. They advertise WIFI but you never can connect and when you do, it's for a few seconds and then it disconnects. It is so bad that they shouldn't advertise WiFi as an amenity. Phone service is horrible. I was lucky to get 1 bar. The campsites are muddy when it rains. They advertise a recreation room but there is none.... Read More

It was supposedly being upgraded but when I talked to other tenants that had been there for quite some time they said no one has ever worked on it. We looked inside and it was trash. The other campground is very nice with a load of amenities, however, the campers on the quiet side cannot use them. The owner is very unprofessional. This was our first experience with KOA and it will probably be our last. If you decide to stay at this KOA, do not stay on the quiet side and, whatever you do, don't complain to the owner or you will be evicted.

This KOA is divided into 2 KOAs and each has its own check in. This is not spelled out on the website. There is a newer section (Colonial) and an older section (Williamsburg). The Colonial section had nice amenities, big rig friendly and internet. The Williamsburg section did not have this. We were in the Williamsburg section but I had no idea of knowing how and why since this was not spelled out when making the reservation. The criteria simply said quiet space. I was a 32 ft Class C towing... Read More

We were in the Williamsburg section but I had no idea of knowing how and why since this was not spelled out when making the reservation. The criteria simply said quiet space. I was a 32 ft Class C towing a car and we had a lot of difficulty. The unpaved roads and turns were narrow requiring us to back up and do multi-point turns to get to our spot and get out upon check out. The spaces were so close together, our sewer connection was past the neighbors picnic table and their fire ring was 2 feet from our motorhome which allowed the smoke to engulf our motorhome. The bathhouse had no electricity one day and the heat index was 105 that day, 7/14/2017. We had to pull very close to the road to allow our awning to open fully. Then when we picked up the picnic table to move it under the awning, one of the table top boards crumbled in my hand. Upon inspection of the whole table, it had several rotten boards making it virtually unusable. Upon visiting the Colonial side to see what it was like, we found paved roads, site escorts, larger sites, big rig friendly roads, Wi-Fi, a nice pool and kids play area. I have a feeling we would have really enjoyed our stay on that side. But not that interested in coming back after our negative experience. If you go here, call ahead and make sure you are assigned to the Colonial side of this KOA.

Stayed here for 2 nights while going to Busch Gardens. Check in was very efficient and we even had an escort to our site. Site was a mostly level but a little damp. We had an ongoing problem with flies. The pool was great, bathrooms clean and the ground well maintained. The fact they charge for Children and not the standard 4 person family was a little disappointing. The cost was also very high I assume due the the proximity to Busch Gardens.

We selected the Williamsburg KOA as our destination for our Airstream's maiden voyage. It also happened to be our family's first ever RV experience. We based our selection from the reviews here on TripAdvisor, and could not have been more satisfied with the outcome. The staff was friendly, and helpful - they escorted us to our campsite which was very nice. The sites are well kept - the picnic table was in great shape, and a fire pit. The site, D30, was a pull through, graveled and dry. The location... Read More

The site, D30, was a pull through, graveled and dry. The location was very convenient to all things Williamsburg (Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Outlet Malls, and big box stores) - but you'd never know they were around because the campground is tucked away. Aside from a distant train, we did not have any trouble with road noise. The facilities were clean, and well equipped. The bathouse attached to the KOA office could probably stand to have a facelift, but again, it's very clean. Since it was offseason, the pool was closed, but it's large and looks like it would be great fun during the summer! They did have a "bounce pillow" turned on, and that provided a lot of entertainment for our family, and other families that were staying there. We would definitely return to this KOA, and recommend it to other families.

All the KOA amenities, clean restrooms, friendly staff, good wi-fi and cable. Great place to use as a basecamp for exploring colonial Williamsburg. Watch out for their entrance gate. It only allows 1 vehicle in at a time. My better half drove our toad in right behind our RV and did not see the sign until it was too late. She got 2 small dents on the A pillar of our toad. Other than that everything was very good.

Typical KOA. nice pool, but the game room needed to be updated. bathrooms still have the oh so 70's feel. quiet and clean though. We would go again. great family place.

The great weather forecast changed by the time the actual day arrived, and it was a drizzly Friday and Saturday. Still loved the close proximity to Busch Gardens! The kids still got to jump on the jumpy pillow for a little bit. The heated pool closed a little early-teens will swim even if its rainy. With 6 of us on site, the bathhouses were wonderful-plenty of hot water, clean, well-lit inside. Pretty easy to maneuver your rig and get it set up. The premium site we booked this time was very nice with a paver patio, grass sod, fire ring, picnic table, and a wood swing. An advantage of this site: when it's raining, no dirt splashes up on your things and you don't drag extra dirt into the camper! One negative-the extra costs for actually having more than 2 staying. We had 6 this time. BTW, this was our second stay at this KOA, so that is saying something.
