The Premium sites are nice but are a bit lacking. On the plus side they have concrete pads with paver patios and nice fire pits. On the minus side their roadways are small for big rigs to get in and out. Also the sites are a bit tight. Premium sites should be bigger. The utilities pedestal has no breaker or duplex outlet. I have never seen this before. It seems dangerous to me plugging in 50 amp to a live outlet. The weekend festivities were good and the restaurant they have on site is nice... Read More

Rockahock could be a really nice RV Resort with a little more work. Right now its an Ok campground.

We actually only stayed for a few hours and left due to the campground allowing another camper take our friends site. I verified during check in that our friends were booked on the site next to ours and informed multiple staff over 4 hours that the other campers were still in the incorrect site. The other people, who were supposed to be in a standard site, decided they wanted a patio site and took it. Staff thought that moving our friends to a standard site was the solution. We left and booked at a much nicer and accommodating campground. The patio sites are level, we did not use the bathrooms, and there is construction going on currently.

Restrooms and showers near the Hall were cleaned the first few days we were there. By the end of the week they weren't cleaned for 3 days. Wastebaskets were dumped and towels refilled, but floors and showers were not cleaned. We did not use the other shower house as it was at the other end of the campground. Wifi was pretty much non-existent, even though we were in a site right next to the Hall, where staff told us the wifi signal was strongest. Cell phone service was also pretty much non-existent.... On site restaurant had very limited hours and was only open a few days. We were escorted to our site, and asked to back in.....this made all hookups on the wrong side! We pulled in, but could not pull "thru" the site due to a wooden fence in front of this site. Lots of construction equipment around. Many permanent/seasonal campers in this campground. I don't think I will recommend this campground to family and friends.

On the positive side, the rates were decent, the pool was very nice, our campsite was fairly level and it was quiet. We decided to try Rockahock based on their advertisement of a private beach, fishing pier, fun zone for the kids and activities. The online video made it look like an awesome place to stay so we decided to stay for 1 week. Well that part was true. They had these things. The staff was friendly and morning trash pick up was a plus. After we arrived and checked in we went to our... Read More

After we arrived and checked in we went to our site. It was pretty level. Hookups were conveniently located. There is no switch to turn off breaker prior to hooking up. Our cable hookup did not work and there was zero cell service. Wifi worked most of the time. I made a complaint to the office staff about the cable not working. I was told because it was Sunday the maintenance workers were off for the day and this was not an emergency. A work ticket would be put in for Monday. Their solution was to hook up to another site's cable. It was never fixed or tended to. Glad I had an extra long cable to use. Our views from our campsite were horrible, nothing like in the video they post on their website. We had the maintenance grounds on one side (what a huge mess), and along the camp road behind us it looked like a dumping grounds (wish I could post photos). The fishing piers were so dilapidated we did not feel safe letting the kids on them to fish. Boards were missing, cracked and in bad shape. The front office had told us the fishing barge was out of use due to recent storms moving it. They were waiting for a contractor to relocate it back to its spot. We had actually found out by talking to others that it had been that way for a couple years. The private beach was disgusting. Lots of slime, algae and just plain nasty. Huge disappointment. No way would we let the kids out there. Again the videos showed it looking really nice. The fun zone, which was a big thing we really wanted for the kids, was only open on the weekend, consisted of 2 bounce houses. They were so filthy the kids had to get bathed after playing on them. The clubhouse never opened at all. No kids activities or events during our stay. The bathhouses were disgusting, particularly the ones near the 'fun zone'. Old, dirty, not kept and in dire need of maintenance - trash only picked up once during the week. No working vents and lots of bugs - spiders, mosquitoes, moths and hair. On numerous occasions I saw aggressive breed dogs (pitbulls in particular) running around campsites without a leash. Made me very nervous while walking my dog. I also witnessed one resident camper (extended stay) walk her 2 dogs over to rental campsites and let her dogs do there business ( #2) and never cleaned up after them. If I had reserved that site I would have been plenty mad to see dog poop around my site.
Based on our stay here at Rockahock, we will not return nor recommend it to any of our friends or family.

Nice park with level sites. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay even though we happened to get there during the annual BBQ cook off. The place was packed and there was some sort of mix up on our reservations so we didn't get a pull through because there were none available. So we took a back in on grass which hadn't been used for quite a while. The 50 amp connector on the pedestal had cobwebs on it and the water hook up leaked and flooded that side until I was able... We stayed ten days and really enjoyed it. It's a huge park and has lots of appeal. Some of the pull through sites are really nice but you pay for that also.

We had a standard site which meant it had full hookups including cable (which was not very good - the antenna worked better). The site was in an open field and we were fortunate enough to have shade from the trees. The power pedestal did not have a shutoff switch so we had to connect directly to power with no protection when plugging in. The restrooms were very nice but, during the four nights we were there, the trash was never emptied. My husband commented that the commodes in the mens' room... Read More

The restrooms were very nice but, during the four nights we were there, the trash was never emptied. My husband commented that the commodes in the mens' room needed some maintenance. Showers were separate from the restrooms and were individual. There were vents but no air conditioning. Temperatures during our stay were in the 90s. The deluxe and patio sites were somewhat an improvement over standard sites but, other than concrete pads, had little to offer. It's not a bad campground but could use some TLC to entice more campers. We did not use the pool but it was beautiful and had a splash pad for the little visitors. I got the feeling it was more for the folks who were in the seasonal and annual sites that comprised the greater portion of the campground than for the short term visitors. There was a pavilion, a Fun Zone for kids and an amphitheater that were not open during our stay. There is a restaurant on site that is open limited hours and offers takeout. We would return if in the area only because it has more affordable rates than other campgrounds nearer the Williamsburg area.

Standard sites are very confusing. Large pieces of wood surrounding the electrical boxes which doesn't help getting the RV close to the outlets. Some of the standard sites are back to back. If we had known the patio sites or supreme sites were much nicer, (we explored the other sites) we would have booked one of those. Very little shade. Picnic tables are very heavy to move as some seem to be cemented to the ground. Our table was on the other side of the RV, could not move it to the other side.... Read More
