The Crater Lake Big Rig RV Park is our 84th stop and we stayed for 7 days during our visit to the Crater Lake region. Camp hosts greeting me were very nice and all camp hosts were excellent and we enjoyed talking to a number of them. Given the summer heat, appreciated the shade from the large trees. The back in site was a little challenging for my 38 foot rig at the entry of the site but when backing in, the site was very deep and wide – thanks to the camp host with his excellent skill directing... The back in site was a little challenging for my 38 foot rig at the entry of the site but when backing in, the site was very deep and wide – thanks to the camp host with his excellent skill directing me in. The asphalt site was level and the utilities nicely placed. Very little road noise and nice trails in the woods near the river for the pup out the back of the park. To top it off, hot dogs and entertainment on Saturday evening with complimentary homemade muffins (they were excellent) and coffee on Saturday morning. A solid park, great value and would definitely stay here again in the future. Would rate it 4.8 overall. In terms of connectivity, no cell service however, the WiFi is adequate for general web activities including calls. 16.0 down/14.8 up.

Lovely accommodating hosts. Wooded, reasonably private sites. However, they have full time residents as well. The trailer next to me was a mess, with junk everywhere, not a pleasant spot to be. Also, very buggy. Didnt use facilities. Not much in Prospect, closest to Crater Lake. Would try somewhere else next time

Nice quaint forested park. Tight spaces, but adequate. Lots of trees making satellite connections a challenge. Very limited WiFi and cable TV is extra. Close to Crater Lake, Rogue River gorge and several waterfalls. A dream spot for hikers and photographers. Beautiful scenery and park provides map of nearby attractions. Be sure and stop at nearby Beckie's Restaurant for a slice of homemade pie. We'll be back!

This park caters to those looking for the camping experience. No cell service, no wifi and the bare minimum of amenities. The park is 20 minutes away from the south entrance of the park and is beautiful being in the heavily wooded area. See our full review at www.thegilliamsisland.com

it rained the whole time we were there and since the site is narrow asphalt surrounded by dirt/pine needles it was pretty messy, but not the parks fault. The roads in the park are very narrow which do make it difficult for larger rigs to maneuver into the narrow sites. There is no cell service unless you sit on the porch by the office. There is no satellite reception due to the trees, although we were told at check in that they had Direct TV we could hook up to. When we could not get it to work,... Read More

When we could not get it to work, the staff said well it didn't always work out well. There is no internet service. You can get the park internet to work if you sit on the porch by the office. Since it was to rain the entire length of our stay, we decided to leave early and the park did refund the last few days of our stay.

We stayed here 2 weeks so apparently liked it enough. It has positives and negatives. The hosts are very nice, friendly and helpful. It is centrally located to many visitor attractions. We stayed in two different sites. In one, we could fit the motorhome in but had to jockey the car around to avoid blocking the site next to us. It was not very level. The second site was much longer and more suited to a large motorhome. The interior roads are narrow so be careful with larger units. The WII FI didn't... Read More

The second site was much longer and more suited to a large motorhome. The interior roads are narrow so be careful with larger units. The WII FI didn't work at either site. (Hint: The library just across the street has WII FI. You can sit in your car, inside the library, or outside at a table. It worked great.) Due to trees, our satellite did not work. We could use our Verizon phones if we sat right by the office. The strangest thing was how the computer did the billing especially if you extended your stay. I couldn't determine by looking at the receipts if I was charged correctly. I verified the price by checking my account once we left. If we needed hookups, we would stay here again.

This part of our long trip to Oregon from Colorado was great. The park is clean and all hookups were very nice. Lovely forest sites with lots of room. Restrooms are very small but clean so I opted to use my trailer exclusively. The hosts were great about telling us about other things to do in the area. My next trip to Oregon will include more time in this spot.
