This is a new campground, well off the main roads, 20 miles south of I-40,10 miles north of Highway 64/74 and 12 miles from Lake Lure by Bills Creek Road. Gravel road entrance. 16 RV sites on top of a graded hill, with 8 full hookups on one side and 8 with just water and electric on the other side. No shade on the RV sites. Numerous tent sites along the edge, and in the woods. Sites are level, with gravel and grass. Sewer is in front of the site, making hookup a long reach. Even with a 15ft sewer... Read More
This is a new campground, well off the main roads, 20 miles south of I-40,10 miles north of Highway 64/74 and 12 miles from Lake Lure by Bills Creek Road. Gravel road entrance. 16 RV sites on top of a graded hill, with 8 full hookups on one side and 8 with just water and electric on the other side. No shade on the RV sites. Numerous tent sites along the edge, and in the woods. Sites are level, with gravel and grass. Sewer is in front of the site, making hookup a long reach. Even with a 15ft sewer hose,still had to set up close to the road,and park tow vehicle in back of the site to be out of the entrance road. All sites had a fire pit and table, although tables were in bad shape. The office/owner residence/bath house/ pool is top notch. Owner is friendly and answered questions. No cell phone service. Over priced for what is offered on site. Did offer a discount on return visits and for referrals. Cash only, no credit/debit cards accepted. Good location for day trips/site seeing in the area. Recent weekend we were the only folks there till Saturday night when some tenters came in. Surrounded by mountains....will be beautiful in the Fall
