This little state park is a gem. It is classified as a night sky preserve and is absolutely perfect for star watching. Each site is fairly private with heavy brush and trees between the sites. There's only electric and it's only available at some sites. If you bring kids, be prepared to entertain them as there are no playgrounds, bounce houses, heated pools, or camp counselors to keep them busy. If you bring kids, be prepared to entertain them as there are no playgrounds, bounce houses, heated pools, or camp counselors to keep them busy. It's a perfect quiet retreat for leaving the rat race behind and reconnecting with what's really important. Reservations can be made online but if you don't, be sure to stop at the headquarters on the way in to register for a site.
