The pictures offered on their website need to be updated. Agree with the review stating this was probably a nice facility 30 years ago. The spots are small. We were fortunate that we were traveling with a group so our neighbors were friends. Appears to be quite a few who are living/storing their RV's there and haven't been keeping them up. Didn't have to use the restrooms but thankful for that because the smell of sewage was horrid. Not sure if it was the restrooms or the RV parked close that... Read More

Campground is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, etc. That was the positive. They don't allow outdoor rugs. They do allow pets but as always there were owners who don't pick up after their pets. They have signs stating `Do not drive on grass' but the whole area is grass, even the sites. Was ok for a weekend getaway with friends but more than likely won't be returning.

We had vehicle trouble and I called this rv resort. They got us a spot and worked with us everyday until the truck got repaired. One of the nicest places we have stayed. Clean restrooms, nice laundry facilities and the grounds were maintained. The owners were great people and employee. If we ever come through again I would stay. Peaceful & beautiful place.

I was told to lock everything when I checked in an interesting start to our stay. Although we had no issues we also did not feel compelled to spend any time outside our rig or to use their facilities. Probably an ok facility 30 years ago not sure they have spent much effort in upkeep since. Enough said ??

As I was working in the area for a few months, I stayed here from Nov 2018 to Jan 2019. The folks that run the place are super-nice, as are their entire team. It is secluded, and quiet. There are stores/restaurants just a few miles away (Lowe's, Grocery, Super-Walmart, Phat Franks, Big Al's, Vidrine's Steakhouse, Prejeans, etc.). Many of the long-stay folks are people like me that are working in the area. We did see an influx of families and such around Thur afternoons to stay for the weekends.... Read More

Many of the long-stay folks are people like me that are working in the area. We did see an influx of families and such around Thur afternoons to stay for the weekends. They have an outdoor pool (open seasonally), and a play area for the kids. I enjoyed taking a break from the computer to walk the grounds, and meander around the bayou at the rear of the park. Plenty of Cypress Trees with Spanish moss hanging from the branches, and boscoyos (cypress knees) pushing through the duck weed in the water. No vampires (but I didn't go back there at night). The only tough thing about this park is something that plagues all of Louisiana. A very high water table ensures that it takes a while after a rain for the water to drain off the park. A couple of times during my stay, my site filled up to the steps (~8") with water during a good "Louisiana Frog-Strangler". There were sites that were a little higher than mine, that weren't impacted, or at least as much as mine. I would love to stay at this park again, but if it's the rainy-season, I'll request a site at a little higher elevation. C'est si bon, ya'll.

I chose this park because of the ratings on Good Sam but we were disappointed. Mostly dirt/grass sites with very little gravel so when it rained hard one night it was a huge mess. Park appears to be mostly full timers and needs some TLC to reach the ratings given from Good Sam. Office person and owner very nice. Laundry room is old and not very clean could use some updates. There is a gate at the entrance but not at the exit so folks can still get into park. Roads from I-10 to park are really... Read More

Roads from I-10 to park are really bad with potholes and bumps everywhere and the surrounding area has not been maintained at all dilapidated buildings etc nearby. Water pressure good Ok for one overnight

Stayed two nights. Staff friendly. Site was good, level. Grass and gravel. No picnic table. Water pressure good. WiFi good. Cable good. Roads are gravel. Road out of the park fraught with potholes.

Bayou Wilderness was just an overnight stop for us while traveling on I 10. In all fairness, my opinion may be a little negative due to the rain. This place gets very muddy. I am not a fan of mud. We could not even step out of the RV door with out sinking into mud. Perhaps we could have positioned our rig a little more on the gravel. The park looked very neat and the staff at check in were very helpful. We did not use the cable TV, as there were enough channels available over air with a good... Read More

We did not use the restrooms, but everything looked neat from the outside. One caution, check your route in carefully. Our GPS took us out of the way. From I 10 take 49 N and then use the hwy 98 exit to take you to the RV Park. Our gps choose a very out of the way route there that was a little concerning. We travel in a 5th wheel that is 41 foot long and 13 foot high. The pull thru camp site fit us well.

This is a really hard campground to find. Also, the roads are very narrow from the interstate. Don't attempt to drive to it from I-10 unless you have a very small RV. Also don't attempt to try to find it after dark. "Wilderness" describes it best. It is best to use the written directions from I-49. It is more of a straight shot that way - only two turns. All sites are pull in. They are all gravel paved. They have a nice pool that is good for kids. Plenty of room for walking around after... Read More

This is a beautiful and very clean campground. We are a big rig, and it was easy to get in and out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our propane tank and called the office to see if there was anyone who might be able to diagnose the problem. The Owner came to our bus immediately and diagnosed the problem as a bad regulator. He called a repairman he knew, and the repairman was at the bus within the hour. Thanks to caring staff at this campground, we will be on our way,... Read More

A little off the beaten path, but I would stay here if visiting Lafayette for more than overnight. Close enough to "town" facilities-just far enough to be quiet. Worth the short drive off the Interstate. Will probably stay here when our grandson starts college at ULL.

One of the best parks we have ever stayed in. Not only was the site beautiful and the facilities clean and functioning, but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We always stay here when in Lafayette. This is the most convenient park to the city, plus it is away from the freeway so it is quiet & peaceful. Comfortable spots with lots of grass for pet walks. Bathrooms are clean with plenty hot water. The lake is very charming also. We have been staying here for about 3 years & always enjoy it.
