We were charged $60 a night for a back in full hookup. It was so tight that the guy working the desk had to guide us in backing in. He was an extremely pleasant guy. He was the only good thing about the site. If you blink you will miss the entrance to the park. It is so tight! The driveway to get to our spot was riddled with potholes. Our site backed up to someone's back yard. There was not enough space for a table or chairs. We did not get to use the firepit cuz we probably would have set fire... Read More

The place did look like a flophouse. It did not look safe to be there. All of the full hookups did work. So disappointed.

Stayed one night during Memorial weekend on a gravel site which was not level, sites were real close and had to maneuver carefully when pulling out, main driveway was very narrow also. I felt that even with my Good Sam discount, the price was extreme for that park. Will not stay again. The person on staff was friendly and helpful

The spaces are pretty tight, even for our RV. We had a pull-thru space. Overall thoughts on the place are that it was not at all what we anticipated it would look like. Extremely run-down outside. We we're not in the office or the restroom facilities because of Covid 19, so we cannot rate those without seeing them in person. Through the years, we have been to many Good Sam, highly rated campgrounds, and this campground we would have to say is in our opinion highly overrated.

Very helpful staff. Overnight stay on our way West. Full hookups on a pull through. Small Park in the middle of Kansas City. Conveniently located.

Seems pretty cramped at times, personnel at this campground are very good and will bend over backwards to see that you are taken care of, very accommodating.

100% satisfied with the staff and facilities at Walnut Grove. It was our first long trip from MI and we found very friendly people and pleasant camp grounds, in the middle of Kansas City...recommend it highly and I will plan on returning on my next trip.

Really nice big sites. Quiet, friendly neighbors. Close to many of the attractions KC has to offer. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

We stayed at this campground for 3 weeks while my husband was working a job in the K.C. area. We were so grateful to be able to stay here....the location was great, lots of great shopping close by, easy access to the highways and we felt really safe. The staff was incredible and very accommodating. The bathroom and laundry facilities were very clean. I never saw any trash laying around. It was very shaded with lots of trees. It was a little tight getting the 5th wheel in but the lots themselves... Read More

I would highly recommend this park if you are wanting to stay in/close to the city.

Made reservations over the phone about a month prior to our stay. Walnut Grove wasn't our first choice but our first choice was booked. Johnson Road, leading to the park off I-35 is currently under construction. Turning in to the campground was a little tight but manageable with a 30 foot trailer. Office/store is clean and organized and is stocked with basic essentials and snacks. Asked for a satellite friendly site and was told we should be fine putting our antenna out in front of our trailer. Interior roads are paved but could use some rehab. Our site was wide enough for both our trailer and tow vehicle, side-by-side. You don't find that often so that was nice. Utilities were well positioned and our site was mostly level and gravel/dirt. Water pressure was high so be sure to use a reducer/regulator. We were given a site 111 which is about half way down the west lane. Noticed that most of the units further down the lane were "Permanent" campers. Most units could have used some TLC. Set our month old auto-find tailgater out and went through the process to lock in the satellites. Could get a lock. After a couple hours trying and talking with Dish, we gave up. At least 5 others around looked to have satellite service. Called the office and was told that they hadn't had any complaints about the issue previously. That was about the time the permanent campers started coming in from work. One came home, turned on their radio and left their door open. By this point we had decided to cancel the rest of our stay. Went to the office and they kindly canceled the rest of our stay and gave us a refund for our unused nights. We did notice some traffic noise and sirens throughout the night as well. In short, the staff was super nice and professional but the campground itself was not what we expected.

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 3 nights in a site for big rigs. If you plan to visit Kansas City there really is not any place closer than Walnut Grove RV Park. If you look at the convenience of staying close to the city then you can overlook the sites that are close together, and the fact that everything is gravel. The office gal was supper nice and friendly. Price is a little high but being that close to Kansas City you need to except.

Good Sams rating for this RV park are seriously incorrect. I would rate as a zero if possible on their star system. Dirty. Rundown . Cramped . I took one look at the park's overall condition and immediately left.

This is an older park with older facilities. Spaces and turns are very tight. At least half of the sites are permanent and many are very run-down. Dog park is not fenced. Located less than a mile off of I-35 and is very close to shopping and grocery. Owner/manager is kind and helpful...

This is a convenient, clean, friendly RV park. Not many spaces available so I recommend you reserve in advance. The owners are terrific, so kind and helpful. Not many amenities but one that's very important to us: It is VERY QUIET EVERY NIGHT. We have been at this park on three trips and will definitely stay here again in the future.

We almost didn't come by because of the other reviews but we are glad we did! The people are gracious and welcoming, there is a little fenced in dog lot for our dog to play in, and while there is not a lot of room, it is clean and nice. Others must feel the same! We were lucky they had one site open when we arrived. Nice that they have a storm shelter, being Kansas in the spring.

Spaces on top of each other; gravel and not level. Restrooms are in need of a complete remodeling. Best thing about this park is the TV listing that was provided on check-in.

Just felt we were camping in an oversized gravel parking lot.

While we were warned in another review that the pull through sites are narrow, we were dismayed at how very narrow our site was. Our slide was within two inches of the fifth wheel's slide next to us and our steps ran underneath their slide. We could not walk around our trailer and had to ask our neighbor to pull in their slide when we left. Everyone was friendly and the park was relatively clean, but I would not stay there again.
