Easy in and out now that the Hwy constuction is complete. Rec hall and laundry/bathhouse is very nice and clean. The owner, Nancy is kind and helpful and is at the office in the afternoons, we enjoyed the Wizard of Oz museum, its a must see if you're in town for at least a day.

Nice enough park. Owner overstated the WiFi "perk" though. Internet in the park was sketchy at best. Computer would show "connected", but lots of drops and spinning cursors. When it did connect it was super slow. Owner blamed poor wifi performance on people nearby using their hotspots. Wonder if she truly believes this. Said wifi worked will in the clubhouse, but did not try. When we were there it had quite a few workers camped there for their job.. If you come, pick a spot toward the office if... Read More

We have traveled for over 6 months this past year been in over 20 different RV parks. This one is very accommodating. It does not have a dog park which was fine by us as there were wide open places to play ball and walk the dog on sidewalks The owner gives you doggie bags There are no trees as this is set in the plains of the midwest so the sunrise and sunsets are stunning. Loved the sound of birds singing and pastures near by. Could use some picnic tables however that will come in time.

A great place to stay overnight in an area where there is not much to choose from. Highly recommended.

I really liked this place. Yes its a flat, treeless park but all of this park of Kansas is flat and treeless. This place is very well maintained and looks brand new even though it has been open for about 13 years (I asked). Everything about the park shows that it is well maintained and run. The woman in the office was polite and friendly. The sites are all pull thru, level and easy to use. There is a nice gravel county road if you want to take a longer walk. They have a nicely prepared oval sidewalk area if you just want to take a short walk. I did not inspect the bathrooms but I would imagine that there are spotless based on the excellent condition of the rest of the park. Great place to stop. I would definitely stop here again.

This is our "go to" campground when heading south for the winter. It's comfortable. Outside city limits with minimal traffic noise. Very flat and open. Plan on experiencing typical Kansas winds!

This was an overnight stop for us and was perfect. The large pull through lots accommodated our RV with our tow-vehicle attached, so it was easy come, easy go. Check in was friendly and easy, we were allowed to pick our own site. Utilities were operating and WiFi came through strong. They have 2 WiFi servers, that was helpful, and no password needed so we jumped right on. We didn't need this, but we watched another class A pulling a horse trailer pull in just before we did. There were several clean stalls just outside the vehicle area for their lovely horse. They had a little " walkway" with clever yard sculptures, just a place to stretch since you are literally in the middle of hayfields. Everything was tidy and organized. Price was right too! Not a spot for a week long vacation, but great for easy come, easy go!

It was hot and windy and the park is mostly gravel with grass around the perimeter but they do have a nice walking/jogging trail near the front. The lady in the office is only there a few hours late in the day. I asked her if she had another job and she acted offended. I was only making conversation. There were only 3-4 other trailers there when we arrived and no one in the office, so we just picked our space. All the spaces are identical as far as I could tell. No trees. It was easy in and... Just stayed over night but host very nice and the park is very clean. Easy in and out.

Very small facility. All sites are pick your own. Office hours are from 5 pm to 7 pm. Pick your site then pay. Staff was friendly, restrooms clean, very little grass area. Sites are rock only no pads. Good location for an overnight stay on a cross country trip. Would return.

The grounds are very clean and exceptionally well maintained. The staff are so kind. I overheard one of them offer to run into town for a customer. The only negative about this campground is the train tracks are close and there is a crossing so several times in the night I was awakened by the train horn. If you are a sound sleeper, this is a great place for an overnight stay.

This is a one night stop on many of our travels. We always find the facility clean and neat. No cable so finding the hot spot for antenna is sometimes tricky - can get all major networks though. Very flat, very wide open ... some highway noise and intermittent trains, but not disruptive. Did not use bath house, etc. facilities this time, but have always found them well stocked and ready for use.

Western Star is not yet a Good Sam's site, it needs to be! We stay here frequently enroute to Lubbock TX. Grounds are immaculate. Packed gravel surface throughout. Open all year. Bath house facilities are large, two areas in a very large Morton type building. Building also houses pool table and laundry facilities. Office area/registration is in another building and offers community room with sofas, etc. It's always been a pleasant stay. Grounds are wide open, no trees. Off Hwy 54 so you will have... Read More

Couldn't fault this place! Especially the hosts! Thanks for an excellent stay.

This is our regular stop several times a year as we make our way to visit family in the Lubbock TX area. Campground is off the main highway into Liberal. Traffic noise is minimal. There are a set of railroad tracks running parallel to the highway and train whistles can be heard throughout the day. They are less noticeable at night. The campground does not have cable and antenna reception is very poor.

This was our fifth stay at this campground while travelling too and from The Rio Grande Valley. It is a great overnight or couple of days spot. The owner is very friendly and does all she can for her clients. The facility is very clean and the gravel sites are large and level. Aside from it being very open when there is a cold wind, there is nothing I can say against it!

This is a flat, rock lot. You get electric and there are nice poles to tell you when to stop, but nothing else. No trees, shade, grass, picnic facilities. No WiFi (they have it but it's a continuous reboot to even read email). It is just across the road from the train tracks and there are trains running all night long - complete with whistles. Sleepless night.

Only stayed one night when heading south. It is easy to get to off KS 54. It surprised us being on all gravel parking but it was very nice. All the sites are big pull thrus and easy to hook up. The owner is a gem and doing her best to make it have appeal and function. The Kansas sky at night is beautiful! The bathrooms inside are actually too large but made it feel like you were at home. I would make it a point to stay here again.

Stayed in May on our way back from Texas Winter location. This is a new park but very functional. This park is on the bare and windy plains of Kansas. Lawns and trees are difficult, but the owners try their best to make this an attractive park with rock landscaping and decorations. We liked it! All sites are pull through and level. Utilities are conveniently located and hook up is easy. The RV parking areas are all gravel. The bathrooms are clean and very big. We did not use the laundry. Wi-Fi is... Read More

Antenna TV is a challenge because of the wind...this is Kansas and there is always wind. The few permanent residents are located in back-ins around the perimeter. Their sites were clean and neat and not a problem. The owner/manager is very nice. She works in town and opens the office every day around four. If you arrive during the day just pick a spot and register later. The office is really beautiful and comfy. I enjoyed just sitting and visiting. The park is very clean, well maintained, and neat. There are workers at the park who can give you directions and help till the office opens. There is a paved walking path with prairie decorations that is lit at night. This is a very safe and secure stop in the vacant Kansas plains.
