This Corps of Engineers campground is an excellent park the staff is friendly and helpful. The roads are paved, and the sites are gravel, huge, generously spaced, mostly shaded, and level. The washrooms / shower houses are clean, Electricity only at the sites. There are two dump stations at the entrance, and fresh water. The crowd tends towards the older side, but there are small playgrounds for younger kids. Pella, Iowa, noted for it's Dutch features, is only 5 miles away, and worth a visit.... Read More

This is an excellent base for bike riding, either on the local trails, or nearby rural roads. Fishing a-plenty in the tailwaters of the dam, or on Red Rock Lake.
