The standout feature of this State Park is the shade offered by many of the campsites which is appreciated with the intensity of the sun. Ask during check-in or check while doing on-line reservation if your preferred site will be shaded. Overall, the Park is fine. Don't agree with the advertising sign that Florida has the best state parks in the country - they don't. Campsites are dirt / sand / tree debris so it gets soggy in heavy rain. They are VERY close together. No sewer at sites only a central... Read More

The standout feature of this State Park is the shade offered by many of the campsites which is appreciated with the intensity of the sun. Ask during check-in or check while doing on-line reservation if your preferred site will be shaded. Overall, the Park is fine. Don't agree with the advertising sign that Florida has the best state parks in the country - they don't. Campsites are dirt / sand / tree debris so it gets soggy in heavy rain. They are VERY close together. No sewer at sites only a central dump station. Only one restroom bldg in the campground area has been update (look like a new bldg). The rest are in need of upgrades. They are functional just old. It's a big & popular (especially on the weekend) park. Senior discount is ONLY offered to FL residents.......Standard rate is $22 @ nite + tax. There's a museum, trails, picnic areas, bicycle paths, etc - so plenty to explore.
