We have traveled for 10 years from coast to coast and this is the Worst campground we’ve ever experienced, shocked to see that this was recommended by Good Sam. Our site was so narrow that we couldn’t open one of our slides all the way. Our neighbors had slides so we weren’t able to walk between our camper on either side. The lane is so narrow that our neighbors across the rd had to move their vehicle so we could get our camper out. To top it off there’s a train track 30 yards from the campers.... Read More

We selected this park since it was so close to downtown Louisville. Not much too it - more like an RV parking lot, with little shade or privacy between units. However, we liked the location and we were not planning to spend much time there anyway. The bathrooms are a dated, but kept reasonably clean, although they only clean them once a day, usually sometime mid-day. For a quick overnight stay, the park is fine, but I would not plan a longer stay here.

Though the price might be right, you will be packed in like sardines in a can. Very close proximity with the unit next to you. No place to truly enjoy being outside should you choose to do so. I want to start with a couple positives...The staff was very friendly and helpful, the gentleman that guided us to our site let me know they had high water pressure and to make sure I use a regulator. We booked and paid for two nights and decided to forgo the second night and move on with our trip. The sites are short and VERY TIGHT! It was so tight between the RV's that if my 5th wheel had slides on the camp side I probably wouldn't have been able to walk between the trailer beside us! I could spread my arms and touch my rv and the slide of the rv beside up. They have a picnic table on each site and I had to move it so I could access our door and move it again before I pulled out to make sure the back of the trailer didn't hit it as I pulled out! They also have have a high percentage of permanent sites that looked to have been there a long time. As nice as the staff was, and the the location to Kentucky I could not recommend this park to anyone!

While the facilities were clean, the campground is convenient to the highway, and the staff friendly, the spot is still a bit difficult to get to towing a long rig and ours is a 35' 5th wheel on an F-350 crew cab long bed. Once there, the sites are crammed in so close that had our sliders been on the other side, we wouldn't have been able to open them due to the neighbor's sliders being extended. It was difficult to get in and out of the campground as all roads are big enough for only 1 vehicle at a time. The water and electric hook-ups are close to the front end of the site and while they are long enough to keep your vehicle hooked up (we have a 5th wheel), our electric cord barely made it to the box. We traveled with kids and while they had a great little store and gas on site, I don't recall seeing any playground. The dog park was a tiny patch of grass in the front of the site - the rest was mostly concrete.I like how they take care of the stray/left behind cats but that's just not enough for us to come back.

Excellent campground! Yes the spaces are a little tight but the owners/staff more than make up for it. First they went out of the way to give us a spot to fit out 42ft coach with a 18ft trailer without disconnecting. They were also very sweet and helpful when my cat Nobu got out of our RV. Thankfully we found him after 24+ hours. The campground is also very convenient to downtown Louisville. We will be back ??

This is city camping. Basically a parking spot no room everyone is packed in like sardines. Campfires are very miniature. No room for just hanging out No room to let kids just play and campsite there is a park was ok but not that great. Bathrooms were very clean along with showers. Manager/owner is very rude. Was charged 50 over what I was told. Told them what I was quoted and they did not care but her home was packed all weekend.

I got one of the two cabins they have. Has a bunk bed and a queen/king size bed a small a/c unit a desk and 2 chairs. I recommend starting the a/c unit on the coldest it will go and leaving for lunch or some other activity so it can catch up to the heat of the day. Overall a very safe feeling place and comfy atmosphere. The cabin has a deadbolt and if you have a pot handy, you don't have to trek to the latrine in the middle of the night!!! I gave it a 3 appeal rating, since I consider this a city slicker type of camping. I like this since I am on call for my job in Louisville and can get there within an hour. If you want to be in the city near the hustle and bustle this is for you. I prefer Taylorsville lake state park, where I can fish and hike and watch deer. Also I gave it a 3 star for facility rating beacause of the a/c in the cabin. They like to advertise the cabins have a/c. Well on this July day I had to hold my face nest to the a/c unit to try and stop the sweat. Its been 6 hours with the unit running on highland if I'm not too active I won't break a sweat.ill be sleeping underneath the a/c unit with a fan blowing on me just to keep comfortable. Invest a couple nights rent and buy a bigger cooling unit please!!!

Great location for touring Louisville, KY. Just a short drive over the bridge into downtown. Only drawback is the constant trains at night that pass right by the campsite. Facilities are nice but could use some improvements. Friendly staff who are helpful and know the local area. Next door is a large RV dealer with a good size parts and supply department.

Be aware that you BETTER know how to drive your RV before committing to stay here. Very tight fit. If you have short-term business in the Louisville area or just passing through, you can get away with staying here. They are open 7am-10pm, so late arrivals & early check-outs are ok. Very close to the Louisville area. Otherwise, get ready for a heavy dose of planes, trains, and trucks. EVERY night, there was a noisy train. When the train wasn't running or tooting it's horn, there was a steady diet of planes flying overhead. Spaces are incredibly tight, so if you're here for a long time and your neighbor ties their barking dogs outside their RV at 7am or decides to run their diesel truck for 30 minutes in the morning, there's nothing you can do. At one point, a neighbor's awning was touching my RV. If you have dogs, there's nowhere for you to walk them. The reason why other reviews complain about the lack of fields & dog space is because half the pictures on their website are green fields & foliage. This gives the inaccurate perception that this campground is an actual campground & not a parking lot with hook-ups. While most staff was INCREDIBLY nice & helpful, their kindness was negated by one rude individual whom I believe was the manager. For example, one night my power meter for my electric went out, and one of their nice staff members quickly swapped out the box. However, not only did the box lack a cover over the connection to protect it from rain, but this rude staff member knocked on my RV the following afternoon and told me to immediately shut off my power so the electric box could be worked on. When I said that I couldn't do it right now because I was billing a client on my computer, this individual YELLED at me saying that it was an inconvenience to come back in an hour on my schedule. Looking back, there were some good things about the park. Clean bathrooms, a small convenience store that was open long hours, plenty of propane, lots of friendly staff members, cheap laundry, & water connections that are well set-up for winter. Unfortunately, the few bad things FAR-outweighed the good things. Don't stay here for long periods.

This park is fine for an overnight. All the sites are CLOSE together, the only grass is what is in the photo of the website. The train in about 100 feet east of the park elevated but did not interfere with our sleep. Very nice staff, but the price is very high, but it is where I would stay if I were visiting Louisville. I would stay there again.

First off, don't use your GPS to get here. It will take you to a bridge that is 10' clearance and if you have a 42' 5th wheel like us, you will have to back up 500 yards and drive through a very sketchy neighborhood just to get turned around. Second of all, this "campground" is an embarrassment to the Good Sam community and should be stricken from its website. I agree with you. We have been staying there for 27 years. About the only campground near downtown Louisville. Owner and her daughter have always been very cordial and accommodating to our needs. Besides, you can use the facilities at the Marriott hotel down the street. We've been staying there so long, we don't even pay any attention to the train. Great place to ride bikes to the river and parks. Close to restaurants and more.

Not to much of a campground. Asphalt parking and rocks between spaces. Spaces are very close. They have cable and my tv found 278 channels and you dont get that many. Train tracks are right in the back yard of this place. They seem to run all night so its noisy. Only plus I find for the place is diesel is right on site would find another site and not stay here again.

When we needed to go to Louisville with 5 of my kids (8-17yo), I had a hard time choosing a place to stay. I don't like city camprounds: most are large parking lots. I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of green here. Camping spots were a little tight, but this is a large campus and there is busy crew keeping it up. There were several activities for my kids that they enjoyed. Bathrooms were average. Price is a little high, but they are actually delivering some extra amenities and proximity... Read More

After reading the horrible reviews, I decided to come anyway because of the proximity. I am glad I kept my reservation. The negative reviews I have read are unfair in my opinion. I have stayed in many "Metro" campgrounds in different cities, and while this is not a top of the line campground, it has many great facets. It is really close to everything in Louisville. Quad slides don't leave you a lot of room on the side but it is not like you are bumping in to your neighbor. Sites are paved and level. 40' Coach with enclosed car trailer got in and out with little issues. Another 43' with enclosed car trailer was next to me with quad slides and it was fine. Fairly quiet campground. Yes there is a train that passes by - at a very slow speed and while you hear the "rumble", there are no horns or signals and running a small fan as I always do in the bedroom, never heard it at nite. Don't be afraid to visit if you want to be close to activity in Louisville.

Beware of this campground. It sits directly next to a railroad track. Staff is not friendly. Sites are so small you have no outdoor space. I could stand between the RV's, put both arms out and touch both RV's. The staff told me they have a large amount of people staying their that are working at the Amazon fulfillment center. It truly is a trailer park in many ways.

This is not a campground! It is a parking lot. The pull thru sites are so narrow that units with slides on both sides can't deploy one side. I had to back my rig up so a 40' rig could get out of his space next to me. No room to sit outside let alone grill outdoors. No room for your toad so you have to park it away from your site.
