I have stayed at Fall Lake Campground many times and it is probably my favorite National Forest campground. There are many nice sites and the sites are not close together. The roads are all paved and the restroom/shower buildings are relatively new and up to date. A door code is required to enter these buildings. I presume that is to keep non campers out. TV reception is hit and miss. Some campsites do get local reception, but most don't. This campground is after all really in the boonies. Satellite reception is also spotty because the area is so heavily wooded. However, I have always been able to find a site that allows me to use my dish.
The BWCA wilderness area starts at one end of Fall Lake and thus this is also an entry point in to the wilderness area. There is a large parking lot for those using this as an entry point. There is also a good boat ramp here and they also rent canoes at the campground.
I believe nearly all of the sites have electric hookups, and water is available at the check-in station and at a few other spots in the campground. However, there is no dump station here, but there is one at the Chamber of Commerce information office in Ely.
Oh yes, there is also a beach area and a picnic area in the campground, and they also have some group sites.
