From talking with the hosts, this State Park is a secret that is becoming known. We stayed six nights in August 2023. It was a back-in site and our 19' Airstream fit with plenty of room to spare. It was a pleasant walk from our site (P9), beneath very mature oak and hickory trees and a beautiful Bald Cypress, to the well cleaned bathhouse. The electric connection was good, the box gave no cause for concern. It was an easy walk to the kayak launch. The lake is a 10 hp max no wake lake. The nearby... Read More

It was a pleasant walk from our site (P9), beneath very mature oak and hickory trees and a beautiful Bald Cypress, to the well cleaned bathhouse. The nearby .5 mile nature trail offers a quick and easy opportunity for some solitude and silence. The park restaurant serves a Chicago Style Hot Dog - camping neighbors from Chicage gave it high praise. Moraine View provides a five star true camping experience.

We spent one night on our way through Illinois. The camp host was very helpful and switched us to a different site upon check in. They had a lot of rain and our original site was very muddy. Thank you, sir! The campground itself looked like it could use some love. There was a crew onsite adding gravel to two sites, so maybe that is in progress. Only 30 amp service, so if you need 50 amp, that could be an issue. We did not use the restrooms or showers.
