A medium sized RV park owned and operated by the city of South Sioux. Located on the banks of the Missouri River and part of a large city sports and recreation area with ball fields and a community pool adjacent to the park. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. Sites are all back-ins, gravel with decent spacing and grass between sites. About half/half between open space and tree shade as the guests are also about 50/50 permanents/transients. Lots of (I think) well intentioned rules... Read More

Lots of (I think) well intentioned rules regarding permanents having to remove skirting in the spring and keep junk off sites etc. Park is just over the river from Sioux City Iowa and close to shopping and restaurants (although Nebraska/Iowa cuisine isn't anything to get excited about). Hard Rock Casino nearby. Lewis and Clark camped here in 1805 and there is a nice museum/interpretive center as well as a steam paddle wheeler to visit. Overall, a very nice place overnight or for short visits. Would stay again if on route but wouldn't make it a destination.

Our visit in 2018 was a return trip, the first in 2015. We are in a 42' class A towing. Our site in 2018 was a pull thru, FHU 2015 was a back in, both sites had ample room for the coach and our tow. The park is right on the Missouri river providing a beautiful backdrop. Office staff were very friendly and accommodating as was the staff member taking phone reservations. Being self-contained, we did not use the restrooms or laundry facilities on either visit. Forty-eight hour of rain curtailed... Read More

Forty-eight hour of rain curtailed much outdoor activities and we were grateful for the gravel site limiting the mud. Restaurants and convenience shopping are located nearby. We hope to stop again in 2019 as we travel westward. BTW, Good Sam this is a big rig park!

Wonderful City Owned/Operated park right on the Missouri River. 5 minutes from downtown Sioux City, IA and all that it has to offer. Our site was a backin (#5) and was plenty long for both trailer and tow vehicle. Utilities well placed and we had no problems getting in nor out. Campground has firewood for sale as well as a bike rental to cruise the bike route through the city and along the river. Some construction happening in the East side of the park which will add or upgrade a few more sites.... Read More

But for the price and location, this is a great park.

Very nice clean campground. Clean bathrooms and showers. Trash drop is only near the entrance, which is the only downside to the camp. Beautiful view of river.

No trash cans anywhere in the park, even at picnic areas. All trash had to be taken to the dumpsters out the front entrance. Pretty inconvenient when you have pet waste bags. Nice view of the river, however.
