The term "Hidden Gem" fits this park perfectly. It is at least a mile off of the main highway so it is quiet. Woodsy surroundings yet modern, paved and level sites. The park has a campground host who collects your fee and answers any questions. The host at our stay was an absolute delight. There are several nice hiking trails for birding and ponds for fishing. During our off-season visit we got an electric only space for less than $20 with our discounts. Full service sites are available.... Read More

Travelling off-season you can probably drop in but during the summer and weekends I would strongly advise that you call ahead for reservations. The restrooms are clean and modern. The "dings" I'd give this park is that the restrooms aren't heated, the hot water in the showers takes forever to show up, and the showers are configured awkwardly. If you can live with these small issues this park is a gem and might even be a destination for a few days visit.
