We stayed at this small campground on our way to Custer, SD. We initially were going to try to stay at the Bayard City Park, but as we were coming from Dodge City, we did not want to chance it and have no place to setup. As we have a small travel trailer and it was summer, we would need an electric connection for our AC. We had planned on visiting the Chimney Rock monument when in Bayard, but never imaged that we would be that close to it from the campsite. Basically, the monument is about 1/2... Read More

We had planned on visiting the Chimney Rock monument when in Bayard, but never imaged that we would be that close to it from the campsite. Basically, the monument is about 1/2 mile from the campsite and you can see the Chimney Rock in full view from the campsite. They even light up the monument at night, which makes for great pics. Anyway, we had a full hook-up site next to the National Monument. Again, it is a small campground and there are limited amenities; but for an overnight or 2 day stay for the area, this is best campground. We would definitely stay at this campground again, if we are back in the area.

Awesome campground. The owner checked on us several times. We were here for 5 nights. We were alone since there was still snow in the area. Lots of things to do in the area. If we come back to this part of Nebraska will will come back.
We purposely stopped here on our way from NC to OR. It is off the beaten path but well worth the one hour trip off the interstate. Nice change from the crowded RV parks that are closer to the interstate. The view of Chimney Rock is great. Owner was very helpful and even stopped in to check that we had gotten set up since we arrived later than planned. Did not use restrooms so didn't rate them.
Small RV park, close to Chimney Rock. Beautiful views and sunsets. Rural country setting. Friendly owners. Good water pressure, full hook ups. No wifi. Gravel roads and sites. Easy in and out. Nice little store that has good food (burgers, sandwiches, ice cream) and beer available. Lots of guests were working nearby, others stop through for a few nights just visiting. The park stayed fairly full the entire month we were here. There is a horse, 2 donkeys and a herd of cattle that live on the property... Read More
