Very nice campground. Long and wide back in sites, many with an open field behind. Nice pull through sites as well. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and well maintained. Quite, no road noise. Across the street from the beach and beach access within walking distance. Dog park and plenty of open space to walk a dog. Only downside for some people may be that it is 15 miles to Galveston. That didn't bother us. Would definitely stay here again.
The only reason I'm going the Restroom 2 stars is because it was the only thing that was somewhat ok. The management is disrespectful and acts like they don't need your business, and they don't clean up the grounds which has dog poop everywhere ( stepped in some). Wifi was patchy, the hot tub was not heating properly, and overall it's a pretty low grade place. Highly recommend going some place else. I'll never go back again. Disgusting.
We had an awesome time with the family here. All sites are concrete and all roads are asphalt paved. The pool and lazy river were great. We loved the upper deck were you could set and watch the surf. The park was spotless and the restrooms/showers were clean and we'll kept. The wifi was a bit slow but functional, which is better than most other parks we have been to. It is a 30 minute drive to Galveston from the park but it was very peaceful and we had a very good stay.

It was my birthday weekend, and I had a couple of days off, so we spent a five-day weekend here, just to get away from the house for a few days. This is a very, very nice park, clean and well-kept, with generously-sized, level concrete pads and plenty of room between the sites. Neither my husband or I took in the pool, hot tub, or lazy river, but they looked popular and well-tended. Staff was very friendly at check-in, and we even got a nice thank-you email after our departure. Wi-fi was loud and... Read More

The park is close to the beach, and far enough from Galveston proper that it wasn't at all crowded. Yes, it's a little far from a grocery store, so plan ahead. But frankly, "farther from civilization, but still civilized" was exactly what we were looking for--and Galveston Island RV Resort fit the bill perfectly!

This stay was our maiden voyage with the new RV. Loved the park and the central location on the island to Galveston and Freeport. Had zero problems with anything and enjoyed our stay very much. We'll definitely be back. But, and this has nothing to do with the park... if your wife wakes up at 3 am with heartburn and ya did't bring Tums you have to drive 17 miles to a convenience store, after passing a few, because Circle K in Galveston is the only one open.
If you follow the rules for having your dog at the campground and expect all other campers to do the same then this campground is not for you. There is dog poop everywhere and it seems that very few campers know how to use the doggy bag dispensers provided by the park. Several people apparently think that keeping their dog on a leash does not apply to them others put their dogs on long tethers, attached to the rear bumper of their rig such that the dog can access both, their camp site and the... Several people apparently think that keeping their dog on a leash does not apply to them others put their dogs on long tethers, attached to the rear bumper of their rig such that the dog can access both, their camp site and the site next door. There's nothing quite as enjoyable as trying to restrain your dog while somebody else's dog is jumping all over him.
I made a couple of complaints to the front desk and they said they'd pass it on to the management but nothing was done.
We've been to some campgrounds that will charge you $20 if they see (either directly of by security camera) that you haven't cleaned up after your dog. Other parks will tell you to leave if you don't keep your dog on a leash when outside of your rig. Maybe this is what Galveston Is. RV Resort needs to do.

RUDEST PEOPLE EVER. STAYED THERE LAST YEAR AND IT WAS FINE. THIS YEAR, WE MADE OUR RESERVATION ONLINE AND OVER THE PHONE AND THEY GAVE OUR SPOT AWAY. WILL PROBABLY NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. RUDE RUDE RUDE!
This place is great! We have stayed at all of the rv resorts in Galveston and this by far is superior to them all. The slips were wide! BBQ pit and table st every camp sight. Pools clean. Food was good and drinks were AWSOME( strawberry daiquiri were good and strong). Need to make a trail for campers to get to beach access on the left with golf cart. If that could happen then would have more beach options. We liked it so much we are coming back in July for 2 weeks. We live in SP area of Houston... Read More

We have stayed here twice. Both times we really liked the place, the sites are great, the facilities are all brand new and very nice. Unfortunately, we have a German Shepherd now, and are no longer welcome according to their rules. Lucky for us, this isn't the only resort in the area.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are pet owners too and understand how our pets are an integral part of our family. Unfortunately our insurance requires us to put a restriction on certain breeds of dogs. Do we like this or think it is fair, No. Other parks most likely have the same restrictions as there are only a handful of insurance companies that cover RV Parks. None of this really matters until someone gets hurt and then the burden (and financial loss) will be on the park operator.... Read More

This place is wonderful! The office staff are very nice and helpful. The grounds are very nice. The sites are level. The pool and lazy river are refreshing! There is a short walk to the beach across San Luis Pass Road or you can rent a golf cart. The off-leash dog park is fairly large but it is not lighted at night. We were here from Sunday to Saturday and it was very quiet and peaceful. If you need groceries there are several options with a short drive. Galveston Island RV Resort is a 10... Read More

Thank you for the kind words and choosing us as your vacation destination. Happy campers keep us going!! Hope to see you again soon.
Very nice park. The sites are big and the roads around spaces are very wide to accommodate even the biggest rigs. The owner is very nice and everything is very clean. Across the street to beach and beach access is very close. You won't be disappointed...
Clean, spacious backin sites with concrete pads/patios. Short distance to beach access. Some pull thrus. Friendly staff
