Stay FAR away from North Fork RV Park in Front Royal if you have children or pets, my Boston terrier was attacked Wednesday and nothing was done with the attacking dog then Sunday it attacked another animal. The manager proceeds to want to say it was a dogfight. There is a big difference in a dogfight and a dog attack. The manager proceeds to want to say it was a dogfight. There is a big difference in a dogfight and a dog attack. The manager is so unprofessional and rude, he then wants to say it was because my dog was unleashed. My daughter was helping put up groceries when our dog got out and ran to the dog park not to attack, he was within my eyesight at all times, my son was within arms reach of him he was not just wondering around. The other dog broke through the fence at the dog park to get to mine. It took two adults and my 16-year-old son to free my dog from not being killed. My son injured his hand, and when I tell the manager, he tells me it was the actions that he chose, if my 16-year-old son wouldn’t have been there my dog wouldn’t have made it. I had to pay $600 to bring my dog to the animal hospital in Winchester and when I call the RV park to tell them about the bill, they tell me my contractors rules are different and my dog was unleashed. He was with my eyesight at ALL times, and it should not matter. My dog was attacked. The other dog broke through the gate at the dog park in my section to get to my dog, and immediately grabs him by the neck and it was a pitbull dog but wants to say that the rules just doesn’t matter that it clearly states that you should be responsible for the actions of your guest and pets at all times but then proceeds to act like we’re the bad people for having to go through such a traumatic event because they allow aggressive dogs in the park. I was being responsible for going to get my pet as soon as he got out. My RV is right by the dog park. I had a neighbor who witnessed it. It’s so sad and unfortunate that another dog was attacked by the same dog that attacked mine, and he was leashed so no excuses there. What’s going to be next a child. I’m also very thankful that it was not my son who got attacked. Also just want to state that the management is so unprofessional when I was stating what the rules were saying, and even showed them a picture of clearly the first rule under pets. I was told that if I wanted to argue that I could leave and it was unnecessary for me to call animal control, and the cops coming to make a report. And every time I tried to speak, I was told he was speaking and then got hung up on. ????????????

Lots of recreational facilities, but we were not given any information on daily activities upon entry. Site assigned was in a treeless "parking lot" and so uneven that our motorhome was not level with the right front wheel six inches off the ground. Charge of $17.00 per night for "utilities" and 3% for use of credit card use borders on the ridiculous! Washroom we checked was very clean and well equipped. Staff we met were very friendly.
arrived late in the evening and stayed for 1 night.... campground is huge. the signs are hard to read at night and the site I got was extremely not leveled. my wheels are off the ground. you must have extra blocks to anchor. I did not use any of the facilities so I can't comment on them
This is not what I call a resort, more of a campground. Has amenities, none which were active since this was after Labor Day. Sites where they wanted to put us were either already occupied or the drop off to unhook or hookup is extreme. Other areas were wooded with a bunch of trees or were too short for our unit. Seems to be located on the side of a mtn, so getting in, out and around the campground was a pain and the roads through area A are quite tedious. The only more level sites seemed to be... Read More

The only more level sites seemed to be at the very bottom of the mtn along the river area where most are permanent or have no sewer. The nicer sites up by where you come in to this campground are reserved for local contractors, even though they were not all full, we were not allowed to park our unit there for the one night stay. Took about 45 minutes to find a place we could safely fit our unit & rig. I called around lunch on the day we were to arrive to make a reservation and was told yes they could accommodate us, just come to the security booth and they would fond us a spot. Did not want our info or anything. Seemed like they just wanted to get off the phone. Was very disappointed in the whole mess. The poor girl in the security booth once we arrived was very nice and did try hard to help us, and didn't have a way of knowing that the sites that showed open were occupied. Someone other than her were not on top of their job.

The "over night" or short term sites are terrible. (We were there for three nights and they had us on "overnight".) The sites had no trees and were level if your RV was six feet or less in length. When we arrived, the spot we had reserved already had some one on it. The wifi is a hot spot type and only one person can use it at a time - and that with little success. The laundry facility was the best thing about the place. Would not recommend this place.
This is a bit different of a set up than the normal campground. It is a member owned place and they have a handful of sites that they allow transients in. The members have to move their rv every two weeks, so it's different than a park that just has seasonals that set up and stay there all year. If you happen to book your time when it isn't full of the members you might be lucky enough to get a spot down by the river. We were one of the lucky ones. We had a friend that stayed a couple of nights... Read More

If you happen to book your time when it isn't full of the members you might be lucky enough to get a spot down by the river. We were one of the lucky ones. We had a friend that stayed a couple of nights and they stuck him up in the transient area which is just a gravel parking lot basically. He was there the same time we were, so spent all our time visiting at our site by the river. We loved our site, but sure wouldn't want to be stuck at the other site. They have a pool and other amenities which we did not use. The grounds are nice and there was plenty of space to walk the dog and cat, so that was good. I would stay here again IF I was able to get down by the river again. If all they had was the gravel parking lot area, I would probably go somewhere else unless I had no other options. I also wish that we could give 1/2 star ratings as I would give this a 3.5, but it is not a 4.
