Please don't be fooled by their walkup sites. There are none available. The locals come and pay for the sites way in advance of any weekend or holiday. The sites then have the pay tag hanging on the post with the site completely empty, unoccupied, and unusable to RVers passing through for many days in a row. We spoke to the camp official and he said this was acceptable. We have never been to a state or national campground where this is allowed. Requirements are typical that the site must be... Read More

What a waste. Very disappointed. I guess the officials can then claim the park was full and have less work to do since sites are empty.

Prairie Rose is a beautiful sprawling camp ground with plenty to do. If you like to fish for pan fish this is the place. The beach is nice and clean. The bathrooms are clean and ok. Camping spots are a little tight but not bad. Great view of the lake.
